Incidentally it's been just over a month since I joined our illustrious space-corp and it's still great. The duders are the coolest you could ask for in any game, and the love of giantbomb is pervasive.

Bioshock Infinite was a mediocre and disjointed game that was a shadow of what it had been sold as. The further it recedes into the distance, the more I'm confident people will recognize that. Levine's disillusionment is one piece of the puzzle.

I don't think Levine owes anything to the employees of Irrational. Your boss doesn't owe you the continued existence of his business; he can quit any time, just like you. His responsibility to them is a fair warning, which is the same responsibility you have as an employee if you plan to quit. Though if you're in the middle of an important project, you should probably finish it first.

If they (this was probably not Levine's sole decision) thought the studio was viable after being gutted of its best creatives, they wouldn't have shuttered it. The rank-and-file get to put Bioshock Infinite on their resume as the last thing they made, which despite my thoughts on it was hugely popular with critics and the general public. Levine did right by them, more or less.

To anyone interested in EVE, Kite Co Space Trucking is the Giantbomb corp and they are part of a larger alliance, BRAVE Collective.

I joined a day before the B-R battle and have been having a blast. There's definitely stuff for new players to do.

We fly out of NPC nullsec, which is the part of EVE were players don't own territory but anyone can attack anyone. I'd say it's a great way to skip to the fun parts of the game, even if it doesn't generate stories like this one. The GB corp 'controls' a system insofar as they gank anyone who comes into it.

I thought this would be a lock for Bioshock, but looking at the list Gone Home and Brothers have to enter the overrated thunderdome with BS Infinite and we'll see who emerges...

It's Bioshock Infinite. It's not a good game that people have praised so often that it is considered overrated. It's a mediocre game that people have mistaken for great on the strength of its visuals and pedigree.

I think 2014 will see people sour on 'early access', but free to play will continue to get worse and more abusive.

However, eventually the legitimate video game industry will cast the genre out like lepers and they'll be ignored by everyone who actually cares about the medium. Hopefully. But they'll continue to make bank off fools.

Edit: holy fucktwig. I just watched the Nerd^3 video of the new one and I was so revolted I went over to Bay 12 and paid $20.00 for my free copy of dwarf fortress.

But Klepek belongs at Polygon and McElroy belongs at Giantbomb. Trade em!

Ran is my favorite. I prefer it to Seven Samurai mostly on the strength of its visuals.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the people splitting hairs aren't even sitting close enough to their television to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. It's a lot closer than you think. Basically for a 52 inch television you have to be about 6 feet away. That's not even enough room for a coffee table and a TV stand. If you have both of those things and your TV isn't gigantic, you're too far away.
