Listen, things change. They always do. That's not bad, it just is. Of course I'll miss Jeff, just as I've missed everyone who has left, and just as I've missed old parts of GB every time it has shifted. But please let these people have their lives. Let them make choices that are best for them and their families. As long as everyone involved here is or will be happy, then so am I. It's video games. If we aren't enjoying ourselves with video games, what are we even doing?

@galmteam: I agree. I REALLY liked the episodic release for the last game. It helped maintain focus on a single location and really drill down into what made he systems tick.

I grew up in Ventura, CA. Scott Parker confirms every bad stereotype about us, and for that I apologize. Bunch of beach hicks...

@steveurkel: I mean... I play far cry games for their stories. I play them, for the action too, and it's fine if that's all that matters to you (especially being set in a location you know very well. That's great!) But Far Cry's stories, since 2, have provided a lot of material to think over and consider, even if that consideration is done by fans and not ubisoft themselves.

I'll still enjoy this game for its mechanics, AND I can be bummed that the excitement I had when they announced the concept doesn't seem to pay off much at all. People want different things from games. It's ok to let people be pleased or disappointed by them. You don't have to feel the same way.

This is what I feared it would be. When they revealed that they were taking on a cult as the antagonist organization, I was initially super interested but almost immediately figured they wouldn't be able to pull it off. I actually really like Ubisoft games, but this always seemed above their weight class. But hey, I'm up for some more Far Cry, so here we go.

I really enjoyed the campaign (though i do understand why you would feel completely lost if you were coming into it without any other canon knowledge), and I'm enjoying the multiplayer quite a bit. The progression system has some real issues, but i've never felt underpowered or locked out fo being competitive.

Different strokes, I guess. I think the negativity over the loot system in has really colored opinions on the game overall. That's EA's fault, so it's on them, but i Do hope people give this game a chance.

Man, this bums me out, because I am legitimately enjoying this game quite a bit. The crate and currency systems have some core problems, for sure, but it hasn't actually gotten in my way at all yet. And while I TOTALLY get why a lot of people are going to find the story flat, I didn't. The game relies on a lot of other books/comics/shows to provide context for a lot of what's happening, which is bad for the game being able to stand on its own, but it does help connect a lot of dots and fill some gaps if you have that stuff going in.

I don't know. EA really messed up their messaging in dealing with the blowback, and I think this has all escalated way out of control. This game's systems deserves some serious critique, but it doesn't deserve to be taken out back and shot. It's hardly the worst "pay 2 win" offender this year, and I really don't know if that label actually fits. It's progression system is poorly conceived and overcomplicated (not even DICE knows what to do with it, which is why they've been changing things so drastically), but I'm not feeling any need to toss more real money into it.
