I've been looking through the wiki and there is a lot of information I can add regarding football/soccer games and players/teams etc, but I wanted some clarity on who or what should be included. I'll list a few examples:
There are pages for really, really obscure players such as Charles Itandje or Damien Plessis who played 3 games for Liverpool Football Club between them and left 5 years ago...but no page for current stars and household names (at least in England) such as Raheem Sterling or Jordan Henderson who for instance have made at least 200 appearances between them for the same club.
There are pages for teams like Bolton Wanderers Football Club and Leeds United Football Club both playing in the second-tier of English football, but no pages for teams like Crystal Palace or West Ham both playing in the top-tier. Not that I'm saying the other clubs should be deleted.
Taking Bolton Wanderers Football Club as an example again that page has a hopelessly outdated list of players on it, should content like that just be removed since it's going to be near impossible to stay on top of? Also I've noticed some players such as Didier Drogba have their stats listed on the page as well. Nowadays these can change based on which mode you're playing or if the game gets updated so how should these be included, if at all? Even the team they play for can change mid-season so again how should this be listed on the wiki page? I've also found a lot of errors regarding players being attached to games they weren't in so I will try and make the right corrections.
I don't want to overflow the site with loads of random football players and teams that hardly anybody cares about, but it seems that is kind of already the case but without any real consistency as to who is included and who isn't. It's clear there is no way to create a definitive list so I think there needs to be some decisions on who should be added and who should be removed because right now it is a bit of a mess. Many thanks and sorry if this is already being discussed elsewhere!
