Dead space scared the shit out of me through the whole game. I was freaking out when i went outside -in the dark - for cigga breaks.
 
I finished the first STALKER game, and have long forgotten about it. Dead Space I still rave on about and recommend to everyone of my gaming buddies. I normally have to take breaks on scary games, but Dead Space was so awesome I couldnt stop, which made the whole thing the most terrifying experience of my gaming life. Every nightmare I had after watching Event Horizon or Aliens was reimagined, and scared me just as much as when I watched those movies as a kid. At least when you watch those movies, its not you in control, and you can look away. 

I really hope not, as a player, thats not what I want from this game.  

They have been pretty good with the focus of the games in this franchise so far, Extraction is hands down the best rail shooter I have played, and I was impressed with just how 'Dead Space' it felt considering the drastic change in playstyle and delivery of the story (the characters talk lots.. and lots - vastly different from the PC game). 
 
If they were to include a multiplayer componant, I would want to see something different than the typical deathmatch variants. I guess some small team survival stuff could be cool, something stage based with crazy bosses every so many stages, that take focussed team play to take down would be pretty cool. If they went nuts with the bosses, the pacing and style of the combat could set it apart from Left 4 Dead. 
 
Honestly though, an alternate cooperative story mode would awesome if it complimented the single player story. Say 10 missions that show parts of the story that occur away from the main story line would be cool.
