Favourite Games of All Time

Exactly what it says on the tin. It's in no particular order. I'll add stuff to the list when I deem it worthy (or when it comes to my head, as may very well be the case).

List items

  • My first RPG. While I've still yet to complete it, I've came pretty close. I just love the setting and the characters. I also like the Materia system over all the other systems. I accept it's a bit overrated, but it's still my favourite RPG.

  • This game has the honour of being the only game I've bothered to finish twice (first with the GameCube, then on the Wii). Very entertaining game that rarely holds back on the action. Perhaps not a traditional RE game...but I think it's awesome!

  • Interestingly, my first taste of this was on the PS2. While I later played the PC version, it still came over as a great game. It was cool watching the events unfold purely from Gordon Freeman's eyes. I also liked the variety in the environments and where it eventually ended up.

  • Due to the repetitive nature of the game, this shouldn't be a game I like...but somehow I do. The bullet-time never stops being cool. I'm also a big fan of the Noir-style narration during and in-between chapters. Very well done.

  • A JRPG...AND time travel? If I didn't end up enjoying this, they would have failed terribly. Definitely an all-time classic.

  • What's not to love about a ball that grows as you roll stuff up and very infectious background music?

  • As stated in my 'Games I grew up with' list, it's a game that I've played a heck of a lot. Even today, it's still perfectly playable. If you have yet to experience Lemmings, I'd recommend checking it out.

  • Again, played the PS2 version first, but still ended up liking it. The setting, all the choices, the music...there's just so much about it that rubs me the right way.

  • I actually like the series as a whole, but 2 is probably the strongest entry so far. They got everything just right. Drake is a very likeable character and the situations he finds himself in are nothing short of amazing.
