Best of 2016
A garbage year for everything but games! Honorable mentions for Dishonored 2, FFXV and Last Guardian, which I just haven't had time to get around to yet.

229 hours and counting, I'm finally on-board with a Blizzard property. Went into it thinking "well, I like some of these characters, guess I'll stick to them", but it wasn't long before I was chasing skins and trophies with all of them.

I had way more fun with this game than I ever thought possible. The driving/physics are just arcadey enough to get up to some very silly antics that kept stealing my attention away from the main campaign.

A fresh take on the classic system that still holds up. Kind of a no-brainer entry.

Never had the chance to play the original entry, so I was very happy to have this come to PS4. Great campaign, even better, addicting multiplayer.

One of the most relaxing, peaceful games I played this year. Incredible art and sound direction, just delightful to engage with.

A year ago, Bloodborne was my top entry, and I claimed any From Software game would be the one I'd dedicate the most of my time to. And yet here's Dark Souls III at number 7. It's a fantastic game, to be sure, but something about it just didn't click like past entries, and I haven't even returned long enough to complete the already-short DLC. Go figure.

Another quality entry from Naughty Dog, but one that just didn't light much of a fire in me. I enjoyed the experience, though it was marred by some repeating tech issues that soured me on it.

Loved the artstyle and the storytelling, as well as the performances and execution. This was a cool little adventure game. Just not cool enough to outshine other entries.

Despite everything, despite all the garbage associated with the launch of this game, and the middling support afterwards, I still had an awesome time playing it, and it earns the bottom spot on this list.
