1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
Atmosphere alone could almost carry this game, but when you add in all the other aspects, such as the combat, stealth, voice acting, etc... it adds up to the single most satisfying single player gaming experience of 2009.

The most addictive game of the year.

3. Left 4 Dead 2
Proved all the nay-sayers wrong. Valve can put out quality in a short amount of time. Not just an expansion, a true improvement in every way.

4. Red Faction: Guerrilla
Pure fun. The thrill of destroying just about anything never gets old. It also had an excellent and underrated multiplayer experience.

5. Dragon Age: Origins
Proving that a traditional hardcore fantasy RPG can exist in today's market. Good on BioWare and EA for putting this out.

6. Shadow Complex
Brilliant from start to end. A retro/next gen classic.

7. Assassin's Creed II
Exactly what a sequel should be. Take everything good from the first and make it better. Take everything bad from the first and throw it away. Then turn it up to 11.

8. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II
Simply addictive. Take all that annoying base building crap out, throw in some loot drops and you got yourself a RTSARPG... Real Time Strategy Action Roleplaying Game. If only my PC could load the maps up faster.

9. 'Splosion Man
A new classic platformer. Perfectly designed levels where timing is everything.

10. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
An amazing experience crammed into the DS. It fully captured the 3-D GTA feel while at the same time returning the series to it's roots a bit.
