I dunno if you have this in europe/america but here there are tons of music Cassette/CD shops that sell the shittiest 90s games ever made, for about 20 shekels which is 5 USD ... ive bought many of these when i was a kid because i didnt know any better, and the gaming education where i come from used to be pretty basic and still is. 
 
I was going through my big CD bag and stumbled upon those old games, along with Fifa World Cup 98 and Midtown Madness which i ofcourse consider the greatest games i playes as a kid. So here's a list of the crappiest games i ever bought from those fucked up shops, thinking they are masterpiece games...  
Games-- no, SHADOWS of games that just suck from every aspect possible and make you wanna kill an old man crossing the street:

I've never played a game and thought it was complete shit (contrary to when I say a game is shitty, I only mean I don't like it.). I guess the closest I've come to actually thinking a game is shit are theses two:

Yeah I bought some crappy games before but dont remember many of them.  I would like to hear more about these stores you speak of.  I mean, is it like Gamestop here where they sell crappy used games as well for cheap?  Or did they promote them over there as being really good? 
Worst game I got was the Pocketbike Racer on the 360 when it was 5 bucks at burger king. 
Got spider-man 3 because i was a big spiderman fan and thought the first two movie games were pretty ok.  What a let down. 
I think that is pretty much it, I have been pretty careful with my purchases, even on cheaper games.

The worst game I've ever owned was a gift from my parents: Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-Traction. The story seemed decent enough with some pretty find cut scene animations and voice overs, but the battles could not be salvaged. 3D fighting plane, one on one, very difficult to control the characters, and the flying felt busted. Oh yeah, and there's no music during battles.
 
Here's a video with both the first cut scene (1:38 for opening, 2:50 for the story) and some gamplay (5:06). Granted, it doesn't look so bad, but most of what I've declared defunct have to do with controls.

Someone got me Legend of Alon D'ar for Christmas or something a few years back, I couldn't get past the first half hour because it was so terrible.
 
I bought the collector's edition of Prey, with the metal case and figurines. I didn't think the game was completely terrible, but it wasn't well recieved by critics.
 
I bought the PS2 version of Unreal Tournament. It's... not very good.
 
A bunch of other stinkers I got as gifts... Swagman (what? PS1...), Johnny Bazookatone (...what? Another PS1 game...), MDK2 for the PS2 (the PC one was far and beyond better)...
