The continuation of the Halloween series is really interesting to me. Not a single one of those films (excluding the first one) has above a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. How can a series continue like that without somebody stopping and thinking "well we've made five of these things and they're all shit except the first one... maybe we shouldn't make another one?" it's fucking crazy. Cool article Patrick, thanks for the write up.

The following is an image inspired by the inaugural video in this series. It contains graphic content that's totally awesome, viewer discretion is advised (or not, whatever I'm no cop).

Twitters been going crazy about this, and I'm seeing likes pop up all over the place for hitbox.tv which is a new streaming service quite similar to Twitch. I've been around Twitch since it was spawned from Justin.tv, and I'm sad to see it like this. I hope they find some solution to this shit, but It seems like people might just jump ship instead. Is Twitch the new Digg? God let's hope not.

I set OBS to record the rest of the stream while I was away at a concert. Cutting out all the silent parts leaves the file at around 3 1/2 hours. If anyone wants the audio file I'll be posting it here in a few minutes once it's done rendering.

EDIT: I tried to get the file as small as possible but it's still 70MB: https://mega.co.nz/#!6UVFwR4b!sqbS4u1Ik1hPlt6nVBp-pYybp0dqKl8uMS0bWiJbPCQ

Jeff's reasoning behind the rating system was interesting. I've always wonder the logic behind certain sites and their choice of review ratings.

(If we want a recent reason to feel better, Instagram was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion and seemingly remains unscathed as part of the buyout process.)

I think this is pretty significant. Facebook seems very self-aware of the things that they acquire and what the consumers want out of it. Everyone enjoyed how Instagram was ran. Facebook maintained what people liked, and added even more to it. I highly doubt they're going to fuck Oculus up within the next several months. Later on, however, I think they might start toying about with the Rift. Still, as much as I despise their website, I think Facebook as a company is gonna do the right thing with Oculus.

I usually don't bother with super long articles, But Evan Togotti's article was extremely compelling. His last tid bit about anonymity really seem to ring true. For example, I could say that I think Skyrim is utter garbage compared to Fallout 3 and could sit and have an argument on a discussion board or Reddit while I try to validate my own opinion to others who disagree. The problem there is that people don't know me, what I look like, or the other games I like. Without this context, my opinion is just seen as an inhuman voice looking negatively onto other peoples opinions. In general, I think that's what's both good and horrible bad with comment sections on the internet. We're having these faceless conversations where the only thing that is shown is words and words, above all else, can be very poisonous.

So at the beginning of this week I found this forum post: http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/general-discussion-30/set-sail-for-bombing-horizons-giant-bomb-wind-wake-1463872/ containing some sweet artwork of the Bomb-crew, Wind Waker style. I immediately set it as my wallpaper, and was quite happy with it for a while. Today, however, I set out to made an accompanying wallpaper that could be used by people who have duel monitors. After about an hour in photoshop, I ended up with what you see above.

It's looking pretty good, but it definitely needs some help. I'm very good at recreating things in Photoshop but have almost no skill when it comes to drawing. So that's why I'm reaching out to the Giant Bomb community, in hopes of finding someone who could turn the Luchadeer into a style that matches with the original Wind Waker logo.

Here's the raw photoshop file if one of you kind artist decides to contribute.

If anyone has other suggestions on how to improve the wallpaper, let me know! I'm open to any recommendations.
