Was this Microsoft's "Play Anywhere" sacrificial lamb? A beta (of sorts) for their new service? Thanks for taking one for the team, ReCore (I guess...).
Outside of chess, tennis also has a rating system. In tennis, however, it's based upon a self-rating & match results. I wonder if a system like that (a combination of self-assessment and actual results) would ever be viable in video-gaming.
This article allowed me think about the match-making process in a way I wouldn't have otherwise.
The simplicity of the interface works for this game. I don't think it really needs to be any flashier. Did anyone else here learn how to type using MasterType?
A lot of anger here which reminds me of the sentiment surrounding Wii and Kinect (& Move, I guess) at launch and pre-launch. It's as if people think that VR tech is going to supplant all that they know and love. Those things were not well-received and they faded to the background. VR may not be any good, or it may turn out great, but to be so actively angry and pessimistic after watching one demo seems very short-sighted.
