A break from video games

This holiday season's focus on motion controls saddens me. I loved the Wii at launch, and played Wii Sports every day for months, but I have no interest in either Kinect or Move. As a result of the double launch, there's really nothing of interest to me coming out for the rest of the year.

On top of that, I've given up on Halo Reach for now. I love the combat sandbox (easily the best since Halo CE), but there are hardly any maps and they're almost all terrible. Combine that with an uninteresting ranking system, too few people on my friends list playing the game, and a broken mic, and I'm done at least until the next map pack comes out.

So this holiday is a vacation from video games. Some of my time is going to be spent programming, hopefully some game design if that works out, and I'll try to catch up a bit on computer games. I want to push through the last 1/4 of Planescape, start Baldur's Gate, and try S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
