So sorry to Ryan's family, friends and everyone who knew him. Seemed like such a super nice person who was stolen away far too soon.

I had part of that mission fail (had to reload) because I opened the door inside the distillery that has the three or four weepers in it. They got pissed at me for doing that, evidently, heh. Could that have been it? I did the poison run for Granny Rags, too, and was able to do everything Slackjaw wanted successfully.
Couldn't agree more, it's a terrific game. My experience has been much the same as yours. Given the amount of time I'm able to spend on games lately, it's tough to devote time to any one game but this one has its hooks in me, to be sure. I love stealth games to begin with and this one removes most of the frustration inherent in them. Artwork and sound are fantastic and it begs you to replay levels over and over again. Can't recommend this game highly enough.
*** SPOILERS ***
This post contains spoilers for the end of the game, and the last level or so.
I'm curious to know who others chose to kill at the end and why. I was pretty convinced that Azai was really the "bad guy" up until the last part of the game where you're wandering through that fugue state. I really wasn't sure who to believe and I suppose that's the whole point to begin with. I ended up killing Azai as even if Ora was a figment of my imagination she'd been with me throughout and just felt this pull of loyalty to her. The game really made it ambiguous in a good way. It was a decision where there wasn't an obvious choice (unless I missed something, which is entirely possible).
I plan on making the opposite choice when I finish up NG+. Does the choice actually affect anything on further playthroughs or just a slightly different ending? Also, I'm not sure if this is related or not, but I didn't see any of the delusions you were supposed to quickly stealth kill for that one seal. Do those show up under certain circumstances or , again, perhaps I just missed them?
Anyhow, this is an amazing game from top to bottom.
My favorites are Stealth and Nightmare. When I play stealth games i have this odd compulsion to do no-kill/no-alert runs. I like carrying two distraction items for that purpose and since I'm not killing anyway, no sword isn't a detriment. My NG+ playthrough has been with the stealth suit exclusively.
On the contrary, as others have mentioned the Nightmare suit is really, really fun. Bringing the fear darts along for consistency is fun, but I tend to like the caltrops better for one reason or another.
I've fought those guys twice, but haven't experienced that yet. I, too, have some framerate issues, but my laptop sucks so I chalked it up to that. Dunno. I had an item pickup kill me immediately, but perhaps that was intentional? Dunno...
If anyone out there is interesting in selling their extra copy of Frozen Synapse, let me know. I'd be interested in buying. :)
I'll send a paypal payment first. Alternatively I could gift an appropriately priced steam game, but I'd prefer paypal.
I'd also consider going on in a new set of copies as well, just let me know.
