Nice article, I have found myself buying most of the HD collections being released this gen, ICO/SOTC was a godsend, MGS HD as well, DMC HD was good except the 420p cutscenes but whatever ZOE HD was great minus some fps drops in Second Runner and Silent Hill HD was ok not great but ok. The Sega HD's have been excellent and the Capcom ones as well although JJBA was well overpriced for what it was!
I really want Shenmue HD collection though and a Street Fight Alpha HD collection.
If they stuck to old wars like WW1, WW2 like Medal Of Honour originally started out and say Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War 1 they 'd have a nice niche in the market.
But trying to go take on COD and Battlefield has been the undoing of this franchise.
I have faith that it will be a good game but I don't know if it will be a good Souls game but I will still buy it to finish the collection and judge myself.
But honestly I'm thinking it will probably be a Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross type scenario.
I would have liked to have seen Miyazaki to have been allowed to have been able to at least make a trilogy of separate Souls games, Demons, Dark, ??????? before we got into the sequel business or handing over the reigns to other people imo but as we all know real life never works like that.
I just get the feeling they had struck lightning and had the next Final Fantasy type franchise on there hands which had 10 great individual games before having to resort to sequels.
People hoping to play 100% of their PS3 and 360 games are probably going to be let down so it is worth keeping your old consoles around still.
Both Sony and Microsoft's next gen consoles are pretty much confirmed by the industry to have changed console architectures which will make this difficult and as anyone who owns a Wii U can tell you, emulating Wii mode is not a pleasant experience.
