Right, I thought I knew enough about networking to not have to post a topic on a forum...  But hey, I'm not ashamed to ask for help.

So, here's how it goes, my only internet is a mobile broadband internet dongle which I use from my (Windows 7 running) laptop.  Since day one, I've been able to create an ad-hoc (with manual IP settings) which has allowed my gf to connect her laptop to the internet via the ad-hoc, my laptop and the dongle.

After about a month, I threw a 360 into the mix and everything works fine (so long as i remember to create the ad-hoc on my laptop BEFORE turning the 360 on, or else it becomes a mess of having to create a different named ad-hoc).  Today, I attempted to add a 2nd 360, and that's where the problems began.

On the testing, I can get both 360s to connect to network and both to connect to internet, but I can only get 1 to connect to XBL at a time...

Here's the static IPs I'm using for all 4 machines.

my laptop :
IP 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway (blank)

Primary DNS (blank)
Secondry DNS (blank)

GF's laptop
192.168.0.2
Sebnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

Primary DNS 192.168.0.1
Secondry DNS (blank)

First 360
 192.168.0.3
Sebnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

Primary DNS 192.168.0.1
Secondry DNS (blank)

Second 360
 192.168.0.4
Sebnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

Primary DNS 192.168.0.1
Secondry DNS (blank)

BTW, the dongle doens't have a regular web page-like settings (i.e. typing in the dongles IP won't bring up anything in IE/firefox since it's basicly redirecting it to my laptop...)  Also to note, the problem only occurs with the 360s, both laptops are fine and uninterupted.

Finding a group to do Left 4 Dead on expert is like this.  And trying to play on some specific map packs for some games is a no-no (advatage of this: you can pre arrange with a buddy to use a certain map pack for a ranked match and be near garunteed to him/her.  One example of this is to use Brutal Ledgends - Hammers of Infinate Fate DLC map pack to acheivement grind.  Unfortunalty, there aren't many people willing to lose more than a few games in a row).

My best suggestion, is on games where you can host, host.  That way you can garuntee your lobby/match will run through to the end - when you've had enough.

The new slimline.  What does it have that I don't have already?  Okay, I'm only packing a 120gb hard drive, but I'm not exactly short for space on it atm.  That, and when I do need space, I can either buy a new 250gb hardrive, or daisy chain a few USB sticks on the back.  And built in wireless?  Wow, so awesome that I already brought an N type adapter about 1 week after it's initial release.  All in all, for those of us already owning a 360, the new slimline shouldn't be that intresting.  Maybe for new console oweners, but not exsiting owners.  Neither me nor any of my friends are forking out money for the new console.  Just my 0.02$ though.  *Braces for flame*

Okay, hopefully I'm posting this in the right place, and not causeing spam or variations thereof...  If a mod want's to move it to another forum that's fine...  I hate posting on forums anyway and normally get it wrong...

So, me and my girlfriend ( TumblePatch) are nearly always playing on my 360 (we can't do normal BF/GF things due to this annoying thing on her end called The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints) but I'm trying to get her off the Gears of War games...  I'm not saying GoW is bad, but I have gotten a bit bored of it...  I spoke to the guys at my local game stores (GAME and Gamestaion) and both suggested Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 and Army of Two, since both a fairly enjoyable 3rd person shooters with split-screen, which is what I was looking for.  The GF hated R6:V2 because (after being introduced and playing nothing but GoW) she found the controls hard to work.  Army of Two got a more favorable response but failed to keep her intrested (with her asking to play Gears when we go to every checkpoint)...

Recently I tried Lost Planet 2, which we both like but on splitscreen is incredibly frustrating even on easy (we always mission fail on the part where you have to keep control of 4 posts to casue the mine to collapse).  That and we can only play on about a quater of the screen rather than half the screen (if anyone knows of a setting to make it appear more like standard split screen, tell me how coz I can't find a way, I'm probably being really blonde though...).  Oh, and it seems that player 2 doesn't appear to unlock achievements...

Away from shooters, my GF enjoys watching me play Brutal Legends, but CBA to play it herself.  She's also had a go at playing Split/Second but whilst she likes the game, doesn't want to race me.  Forza MS3 we haven't played in a while and whenever I suggest it, I get this look that makes me go "So it's Gears again tonight?".

Her brother has stated that she's shown intrest in Assassin's Creed and Red Dead Redemption, but she hasn't played my copy of Creed and her brother won't let her touch RDR...  that and these are both singleplayer and I want a game we can both play...

Finally, she hates FPS...  Halo 3: ODST was pointblank refusal and Borderlands failed to keep her playing if I left the room for a quick food or toilet trip...

So, any suggestions for games i can probably get her playing?  I'd prefer something 2 player on 1 console, since we rarely have access to her brother's 360, with co-op campaign.  To answer my own question, I already have the perfect game but it's not out for a while...  I need something to else to play with her for the next 9 months.

Oh finally, I'm asking this seriously, even if my wording makes it sound like I'm messing around.  Like I said right at the top, I hate posting on forums.

This is all second had info according to my parents.

When I was a little kid, about 1 week after I first started walking, I put on my mothers size 4 (UK sizing) welly boots (rubber boots) and CLIMBED 2 STORIES OF SCAFFOLDING.  My dad's biggest near death experience is the heart attack I nearly gave him when he turned around and saw me 2 floors higher than I should of been...  Wish I could remember it...

Seriously.  My contract at work is 24hrs per week, £6.40 ($8.42 US) an hour.  In relatily I'm working 36 hours a week.  That's 50% more than I should be, but I still can't get enough cash together to grab some MS points to pick up some DLC (DLC2 for Borderlands and DLC2 for Brutal Legends) not to mention the Gears of War 3 Pet Ticker prop.  Thinking about it, and prop is better than the Halo Waypoint Monitor.  Honestly, is there was an acheivement for having the Monitor, I'm sure everyone would have it...  I mean c'mon, if you have a Gold XBL just download and run halo waypoint, update your "career" stats and badabing badaboom, you got the prop.  Pointless.

Anyways a rushed blog today since I'm trying to complete ME2 (though I must note that I haven't quite finished ME1 - still got the final fight to do...) .

Edit: Mistyped 36 as 26, that aside, my percentages are right!  Thanks to MattyFTM for pointing this out... I knew what I menat to say!)

So a day on xbox?  Nope.  Stupid parents have told me to clean the entirety of the house.  Screw that.  I'll give the downstairs a quick hover, but thats it.

Helped a guy get a viral acheivement on Borderlands, though I think he may of had it before I gave it to him...  Oh well, helped him gain 3 levels (via semi-power leveling) so can't be all bad.  Oh have I mentioned yet that I hate viral achievements?  Yes the concept is a good idea, but it's not really an achievement...  That said...  I'm gonna go on multiplayer on Brutal Legends today and try and pick up the Six Degrees of Schafer achievement.  Why?  Because I intend to S rank BL because it's an awesome game.  Maybe it's 'coz I'm a Jack Black fan...  Which reminds me...  I must rent out Tenacious D: Pick Of Destiny...

Now, GB quests.  Everyone is doing them, thoguh some people are doing them faster than others, right?  Admitadly, that's why I started blogging, though I think I may be confused as to what bloggin entails...  oh well.  It's a bit of fun.   So yeah, back to quests.  I was up 3 hours last night getting the Limited edition reach acheivment (I've got a not so impressed post on the forum somewhere...) but the one that really annoys me is the  Basic Building Blocks quest.  I need number 5 for The One Free Man, all of them for Toasty!, number 5 in A Battle in Active Time, all but number 4 in Get Equipped With... and I still need all but number 2 in Heart of the Tiger.  Any clues would be a great help since I'm stuck on everything...
