from GW2guru:

Use the PvP option to teleport back to LA to save teleport costs.

Since TP is based on distance/player level, you can often save a lot of money by quickly heading to PvP through your character tab, and then going through the LA portal.

yep I am largely with you here. I have been changing toons back and forth a lot since lauch, hoping that one of them would actually feel right. But I guess I went through so many better combat systems to be able to oversee that combat is ultimately very dull in GW2. You can move, giggle jump around dodge swap, shift attunements as much as you want: there is but 2-3 melee moves that look cool, the rest is plain rubbish...*big sigh* And yes, the boss fights are just a fat joke. the real difficulty is the keep track of your own toon in the middle of the ridiculous mess unleashed on super dumb/slow/resilient bosses.

anyway, the only thing that keeps me in the loop is the enjoy the very beautiful world of Tyria. That, they did right...that will probably keep me in for a few more months...then Borderlands 2, Dark Souls DLC and so many much better games will hit the shelves...GW2 is but another MMO in the end.

I used to hate it as a warrior but as a ranger, it is like the rest of the game: almost too easy.

the problem is indeed real for warrior not dealing even remotely enough damage underwater. only aility 5 on the harpoon is descent, the rest is near useless. fighting a regenerating skale at your own level or slightly higher can be quite the challenge. I reckon the same seemed to be true for thieves form what I tried. but ranger deal ridiculous amount of damage with the pet...and their abilities are really fun to play. I really think that their still have massive balancing issues in this game. the discrepancy of underwater combat shows it clearly.

I do not like it in PvP either for the moment since it is really a pain to locate yourself and still seem messy. But I think once used to it it can be fun...well not as a warrior ^^ the pronblem of dodging underwater is linked to the fact that if you double tap backward, instead of escaping along a line defined between you and your target, you just sink deeper...the other overall problem is the camera that zoom in your back as soon as you approach the surface instead of just passing through it.

class: warrior ftw

Weapon : shield+sword / great sword

playstyle: dance around the battle field, crippling, bleeding, isolating and stunning / spiking.

I haven't seen once instance yet where there hasn't been more to the story than the player is letting on. The recent reddit thread about name bans was a perfect example. People were being exposed left and right for doing some truly foolish stuff. My advice is to play the game as it was intended and don't exploit.

that.

I may add: you do not steal from a shop while nobody is watching and get all "oh but this is so unfair because nobody told me about this video camera in the corner" when the cops come knocking at your door.

I was just wondering:

Did all of those who cannot join make sure that they activate the option "represent guild X" in the guild panel ? as an former player of GW1, I was tricked because I thought "you joined a guild...that's it, you joined.."

But in GW2, when you accept an invitation with a character, I am not sure that by default you also represent it. What I am certain of is that with your other characters, you have to actively push the "represent guidl X'" button in the guild tab to become part of it. Otherwise, you are potentially a member of whatever guild you accepted the invitation from, but you do not represent any...

this system is implemented to allow player to represent different guild with the same character at different times depending on their activity or whatever reason...

I think some of us can have missed that little detail, be in practice invited in a guild but not "represent" it and think that they are out whereas they are not...
