@Anomareh: Way to take it too literally. I believe that's a trait of Asberger's Syndrome, might want to get that checked out.

Also lurk moar with your argumentative shitfest of posts.

One sec, let me toss your reply into Google.

It spit out:

"You just pointed out how my post failed even more than the OP. That's not cool.

You should continue to not post frequently so you are less likely to point out how stupid my posts are in the future."

*shrugs*

Seems it's hit or miss.

Translation of OP: I am 14 years old and have never played any of these games, and am too lazy to look up the generic playstyle of any of them. Please only use Mass Effect-like, Battlefield-like, and Halo-like. Even then, it is probably best you use an excess of words because I am a control freak/sentence structure nazi and this is the only real power I have over you. Also, I am most definitely a twat.

Pretty sure lazy, 14 year old, grammar nazis don't exist. Those are kind of contradicting traits. Also, "anything-like" was in his list, so your second sentence makes no sense.

Did you try to translate it in Google or something?

@Anomareh: "pretentious douchebaggery"? what the f***? i'm trying to explain how and why the medium video games could evolve and you're apparently one of the gamers who's holding it back from doing so. (also: why i'm "pretentious" for knowing shit about movies and culture? it's called showing an interest.)

You're being a pretentious douchebag because you keep name dropping a bunch of art house directors like people don't know who they are and are acting like the types of movies they make are the only types of real movies.

If you want an example of how to not act like a pretentious douchebag, read 's posts, which have also pointed out, several times, much more politely than I have, why you pretty much have no idea what you're talking about and are just name dropping obscure shit to sound intelligent (a.k.a. being a pretentious douchebag).

Also, please look up the definition of pretentious because you clearly have no idea what it means.

@Sin4profit: that's like calling last year at marienbad not a movie. we need to get over these predetermined thinking structures. the term videogame comes from the 60s, 70s and we still use it today because games are still done and looked at the same way. maybe we need to get rid of the term "video game".

By the amount of pretentious douchebaggery you are displaying, I'm going to guess you get punched in the face a lot.

It's not as easy as that video makes it out to be. For one, I've never ran into a vendor that had that many iron ingots. The most I've ever seen available is 20-30 (either it's a PC to console thing or that guy gathered a bunch of iron ingots and sold them to the vendor before recording). Secondly, once it starts getting higher it doesn't level anywhere near that fast. Once you're at 70, 20 daggers will net you only a few levels. Lastly, once you get your smithing leveled up, the materials required for the higher level stuff isn't as readily available as iron. So unless you were stockpiling or have probably as much gold as you spent leveling smithing in the first place, you're not gonna be able to do anything all that useful with it 'cept improve what you already have by a decent amount.

You can speed things up a bit by fast traveling between different cities and waiting for vendors to refresh, but it's not just hey I'm gonna roll up on this one vendor after getting off the carriage and go from 1-100 and make myself a full set of daedric armor and weapons in 10m for free. It is without a doubt the easiest profession to level, but it's not as ridiculous as that video makes it out to be.

From my experience it's been 10 levels before the requirement. Also I didn't need to visit the college to get the adept or expert books. Farengar had them for sale in Whiterun before I even went to the college.

As far as how viable mages are, destruction wise, it's probably the easiest way to play the game. Dual casting + stagger + fortify destruction enchants makes every enemy in the game an absolute joke. Even with low level enchanting you can just sit there and spam firebolt anything to death with them costing 6 mana per. The only time you'll ever take damage is against multiple targets and even then not really if you have your adept spells. Just AOE chain stagger everything with fireballs or chain lightning.

My heavy armor wearing battlemage is lvl 27 now and I enjoyed my lvl 23 sneaking, light armor wearing, archer, with dual wielding maces much more. Mainly because after apprentice all the destruction spells are incredibly boring and on occasion aren't even usable if you have to watch out for friendly fire. This is just speaking of destruction though.

@Prodstep: I get what you mean. It's not that it's bad, it's just missing something. A lot of the combat is just kiting and taking pot shots. Wish there was more skill to it, though not necessarily harder. Like giving the NPCs more health and making them hit harder wouldn't help anything at all. It's missing something, though I can't really think of what.

@Anomareh no its not, the quotes in a trailer are cherry picked, and out of context

Hence why I said like and not the same as. The majority of todays reviews are no more helpful in deciding whether you should purchase a game than a movie's trailer testimonials are for deciding whether you should go see it.

People take reviews seriously? That's like deciding to see a movie based purely on the testimonials in the trailer.

I just got one and am confused. What's the point of playing an MMO for 2 days? Is this just to try and get people to not forget about SWTOR with all the big releases coming out?
