You're right but the programming behind games is changing so slowly right now. When I bought might dual core E6850 on release day last year, for the same price the G0 Q6600 had been released and there were big discussions about which one to buy, loads of people were saying that all the games would be using four cores real soon, I still feel I made the right choice as despite what many said, few games ever did use all four cores and I suspect few will anytime soon.

I guess you'd probably be making the right decision buying a quad core, as most people would tell you. I personally wouldn't but then I do enjoy taking foolish risks with my money. :P

A dual core would be cheaper, not to mention there are still very few games that benefit in the slightest from the additional two cores a quad would provide.

There is an article about running the tech demo here. They did prove me wrong as they have managed to render the game at a playable rate albeit with an incredibly powerful rig.

Tech demo.
I doubt any PCs will manage to run that at playable speeds any time soon.

I only use Steam to buy Valve titles or old games they are selling cheap. As much as I like steam I always have the thought lingering in the back of mind that if Valve go out of business or have a sudden change of heart I could potentially lose all my games seeing as I don'thave a disc for them.

Could someone change the boxart to the one I placed in the appropriate gallery for Black Shark?

Thanks.

UPDATE: I got the game working yesterday thanks to a user created script fix (you can find it on the GSC forums, they aren't loading at the moment so I can't find the link). Not to mention the second patch is rumoured to be out on the 15th (when the US version is out). So all should be fine.

Anyway the game is excellent, I love the faction wars, upgradeable weapons and now finding artifacts is a real challenge.

Second Update: I found the link for the fix I mentioned here... http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr2&thm_page=1&thm_id=16080&page=4&sec_id=18

I've had my copy (European release) for a day now and am not happy at all. I have encountered far too many bugs that have lead me to restart far too many times (I can't even start a new game without it crashing now). I'm going to have to wait til the second patch is released for non-Russian versions of the game.

Once you get passed the horrific bugs in this game it is actually great fun, though you make get lucky and not encounter any gltiches, as some people claim.
