I've probably read this article a dozen times but this just feels too surreal. I'm deeply saddenned for the loss of someone who, like most people in this site, I haven't even met, but Ryan touched so many lives in the best way possible, he brought joy to the normal chore of day to day life, I always looked forward to a new Bombcast and listening to old ones will become a bittersweet experience.
Ryan will be sadly missed and I'm pretty sure he's now in interactive entertainment heaven.
Would backing up your profile and character saves everytime you play kinda solve it? I mean if something gets corrupted you can always erase the one that got the issue and change it with the backup.
Quest loot: will always be rewarded based on the level of the quest, not your level.
I find hard to believe this statement. I did the Firehawk quest and my solo character got a lvl 11 shield and my co-op character got a lvl 8, same quest, same class and same lvl.
As for the loot I haven't had any issues. I'm using Shotguns and SMGs and I'm rolling with 2 purple SMGs, one corrosive and one fire, and a blue shotgun that does shock damage. I also have a purple slag SMG that I equip when playing co-op. So if you're having a hard time coming by some good loot Michael Mamaril in Sanctuary always gives decent stuff thats scaled to your level and you can farm him by just reloading the game or leaving Sanctuary, if you don't like what he gives you sell it and play Moxxi's slots with the money.
@patrickklepek Just so you know you misspelled Caballero a few times in the article.
That aside, great article, definitely makes me want to try out the game and it's nice to see games evolving into a media that can communicate deeper messages than ever before.
Capcom say a lot of things, and personally I still don't believe that this will be the only version launched so I've decided to wait for a bit, probably for about a year and if they still haven't announced anything I'll consider buying it, thing is Capcom has done this more times than what would be considered sane.
@Tennmuerti: Yeah I thought maybe it was for immersion sake since your character doesn't really know what he's going to get for doing some deed. I compare this game losely to Borderlands since that was loot driven as well and in that game when you got quests you saw at least what kind of item you were going to get, say for example when you finish some quest you'll get a shotgun, it could be a horrible shotgun but at least you knew what to expect.
@lclay: Oh man! I'm definitely doing that quest in Webwood, I had no idea about the house which again has something to do with mi complaint, by the time I went past Webwood I was doing the main quest so I decided to focus on that.
I've been focusing on the main quest and Factions which has been pretty entertaining, but I feel I'm kinda cruising through, I'm going to switch it up to hard to see if that helps.
I agree that this is not a major problem with the game just that it seems that since other games that have been around for many years do it I consider it a weird design decision.
