The Legend of Dragoon hasn’t aged particularly well. We’ll just start with that. If you are super crazy about graphics, don’t play through this game. It’s about 50 hours long and if the graphics make you want to vomit all over your shiny LCD TV, you won’t make it too far. If you can get past that, however, you will be in for an amazing experience.I first got this game in 2001. I didn’t know much about RPGs. I was eight. This game pretty much became my life. I played it for about 130 hours cumula...
I first played this game around its PS3 release on the PS3 at a friend's house. I had never played the PS3 and this game blew my mind. In December 2009 I began playing it again and I had a far less "OMGNEXTGENGRAPHICS" opinion and played it as a more experienced gamer. The graphics are pretty good. In 2009 they look a little dated but for what it is it works. The real hangup I had with this game was the controls. The control of the character simply feels downright janky and throughout the whole...
First off I should say that the visual style and presentation of Dead Space is groundbreaking. The game never takes you out of the game itself. You can pause the game but all objectives and inventory management take place in real time during the game. I played the game after hearing excellent things and I found it to be a bit underwhelming in the gameplay department. Shooting works well but I found the game itself to be pretty boring. There wasn't a lot to do. I would still recommend it to anyon...
This, honestly, is my favorite shooter of all time. I love it. It does so many things right with so few flaws...it's great. The game's story is interesting, the controls work well, the game is absolutely gorgeous, and the multiplayer is good. The game basically revolves around you. You're "Steve Rowland". Well, you're not, but you look like him due to an identity change. "You" shot the President, and you end up facing off against a hierarchy of 20 conspirators. It's convoluted but interesting.The...
Typically, fighting games don't interest me all that much. But I grew up with Mortal Kombat. This game was the first one I played, and it remains to be my favorite. Not because of nostalgia, but because it's the most intuitive and tight game in the series. The controls are great, and the graphics look pretty smooth, even still. That's likely due to it being digitized. The game is notorius for being difficult, but I find this to be good, since it makes you get far better at the game. Or you coul...
This game, while it's been vastly discussed, is definitely one of the best games ever made. The ideas presented in this game are quite interesting, and the themes are present while not super overt. The combat is not complicated but maintains the player's interest throughout with variety and tight controls. The ending has been discussed heavily, but it is truly amazing. In my opinion, best ending of 2007....
