@deckard: I have to ask, when you get excited for a particular game, do you actually look at what is being said/shown about the game or do you tend to imagine what it could be and focus on that?
And I'm fine with that, personally. Why don't reviewers use the whole review scale? They do, and anything below a 6 is shit. Making a game is like writing a paper for school. You might slide with an 80/100, but you really should be going for a 90 or above, and even a 70 should be considered a poor performance that should have been better. Having said that, I still think Giant Bomb's rating scale is the best way to go about things.
I think that might only apply in the States (assuming you are from the US). Where I am, 70 is a B which is a good grade. Not considered poor at all. Generally a C would be considered average (55 - 69). Lower than that would be poor.

I'm not sure on what type of content is missing on the internet as I don't watch a lot of gaming stuff outside of Giantbomb. However I can speak to the way stuff is presented. The reason I like GB is due to how it is presented as opposed to what is being presented. The staff aren't trying to be edge lords, they aren't trying to appeal to children and they generally (there have been some exceptions) don't try and sell some sort of geek lifestyle package.
The giantbomb cast are professional entertainers who have a genuine love of their work and good chemistry. They couple that with an insiders knowledge of how the business works and often demonstrate plenty of integrity. I might not always agree with them but I know they believe in what they are saying.
That's what brings me to giantbomb when it comes to watching content on games. Other outlets feel too produced and manufactured. This seems more genuine.
@ivdamke: Yeah, you're right. I really wish they would expand on that more in other games. Just being a guy/girl in the world would be pretty cool.
Can anyone tell me why only Ryder can be a Pathfinder? Couldn't the people in the Citadel 2 just have put some dickhead in a scout ship and sent them out into the galaxy?
@glots: I'm one of those people that don't notice FPS unless it drops below 20? Maybe 15? I just don't see it. I can see it if you put a game at 60 beside a game at 20 and I compare the two in motion but if I'm just playing a game then I am largely oblivious to the frame rate.
