@mattimus_prime: Just out of curiosity, why do you say that the retro games are ones that you would never be able to see on your own? How exactly, do you think the GB guys are playing them?
@rethla:What do you mean it mean it seems like a huge stretch. You find it hard to believe that I'd buy a game to play a particular mode? Of course I would, why is that hard to believe? And I know what the game is about, it's a fucking hitman game, I've been playing them on and off for 15 years.
@burncoat: Ya, good for you man,I'm glad you enjoy squeezing as much content out of games as possible. I don't. I'm ok with missing content that I paid for. I prefer to go through once and have that be my story. I like iron man mode in games for that very reason. I thought that they totally different middle acts in the Witcher 2 were fucking cool and I am happy that I will never see one of them. I don't give a fuck if I can kill a guy with a moose but I shot him instead, I'm not going to replay it if I've already completed the mission to my satisfaction. I don't enjoy games the way you do and that's ok.
@artisanbreads: I never said that I thought this was hard mode, I said it was the mode that I would like to play this game on. I have no interest in grinding hitman levels to get my mastery up. I don't want to replay the same scenario in lots of different ways. I want to kill the guy once in the best way that I can and leave it at that. Professional mode sounds like the best and most interesting way for me to play this game as I have a lot of experience playing previous Hitman games.
The fact that they introduced a heavy hints system in place in this game was something that put me off the game and yes I know it can be turned off. My concern was that the game would be designed with the idea that that system was in there. The fact that they built the game for people to constantly replay in slightly different ways was a big turn off for me. The news that this update was coming got me interested in getting the game but I've been put off buy the idea that I need to complete a check list and redo the same levels so that I can play the game in the manner that I'd like. If they just let me play it on Professional then I'd buy the thing.
@icemael: ya I'm with you man. I played a lot of Hitman 2 and Blood Money on hard and loved getting Silent Assassin. I have no interest in having to replay those missions over and over again unlocking shit just so I can play the game in the mode that I want. I want to do those missions once, get the best rating on it and never touch it again. I don't particularly want to unlock new weapons or locations, I just want a start point, set gear and an objective.
Dead Rising 2 off the Record is the best one. 3 & 4 are very different and I think more generic games. 1 & 2 are what Dead Rising is for me. They are weird and awkward but they are going for something.
@doctordonkey: I really wish I'd known about that when I played Dying Light with a friend. I thought the game was really weak, especially once I realised that all special zombies showed up on the mini map complete with vision cones. Night time became an exercise in navigating around the cones while staring at the mini map. The harder version sounds much closer to what I had hoped the game would be.
It looks like I might be in the minority who thinks the books are shit (read the first two on 2 16 hour flights) but enjoy the TV show. It's on par with a Battle Star galactica for me. Their Sci-Fi is well thought out and largely plausible and I love space trucking universes.
