I'm using a pair of Sennheiser HD 202's, they have excellent range, decent bass, and they cancel out noise fairly well. They're also super comfy and don't irritate my ears at all. The cord is quite long, which is a bonus for some, but if a long cord is an inconvenience it does come with a cord wrap.

I got mine for $20, but that was over a year ago. They go for $20-$40 depending on where you get them. If mine broke right now I would probably get another pair as they're incredibly good at their price point.

Well, you can usually tell whether a community is good or not by criticizing the staff. If your opinions are reasonable and in the appropriate place yet you're still censored/banned, you know it's a bad community. I don't think a little criticism is disgusting at all.

Calling Patrick names or generally being mean isn't helping, but neither is saying Giant Bomb would be great if it became 100% Patrick. Without Jeff, Ryan, Brad, and the rest of the crew this site wouldn't be Giant Bomb at all.

While people are loud on both sides of the isle, I can't think of any other crew members who are the focal point of so much drama. Whether you're pro-Patrick or anti-Patrick, the fact there's so much drama means there must at least be a small nugget of truth somewhere in the middle.

I'm okay with this.

I'm not saying I hate Patrick, but he is my least favorite guy on staff. I don't know if it's just selective memory or what, but every time Patrick tells a story on the Bombcast it's usually about something mean he's done or some way he inconvenienced someone else. Those are not the kinds of stories I like hearing. What I like are debates on the merits of pennies, drill buckets, poor financial decisions, and the occasional Chris with a white car. Maybe it's just the amount of life experience they've all had? I don't know, all I can say for sure is I used to listen to the Bombcast on a weekly basis, but now I just kinda skip a bunch and listen to it once or twice a month.

Encyclopedia Bombastica is currently my favorite feature on the site because it's the only thing which hasn't been infiltrated by Patrick. It's just Jeff giving history lessons on old, sometimes influential games. I wish Vinny/Dave/Drew would do more Quick Looks, or anything, really. The site is reaching critical levels of Patrick saturation.

I would much rather see a Half-Life movie made by Neill Blomkamp.

@Branthog: Right, but we're talking emulators here and they're perfectly legal and incredibly awesome. If you're going to go after someone for linking to an emulator then you might as well go after the WINE community for not playing their games on Windows.

Emulators are great as tools, and I'm not just saying that because I like free stuff. About a week ago I was watching Jeff talk about Target Earth on Encyclopedia Bombastica. The game looked really interesting, but I don't have the time or money to acquire all the hardware needed to play it. So what did I do? I spent a few minutes downloading the ROM and an emulator to try it out. I immediately took a liking to the game now here I am working on my own game inspired by it. Without emulators there would not have been a spark of creativity.

Though I did illegally download a ROM in my example, Kain didn't actually link to one. He linked to an emulator which on its own is a completely legitimate piece of software.

I feel bad for Ben Kuchera after reading some of his Twitter comments directed towards Erik Kain. All he managed to do was make himself look like a vindictive asshole who's greatest joy in life is watching other people stumble.
