@taaltos: I loved that one :D My favorite though is probably the one where they had the "never stop spinning (Tony) Hawk!" joke or something. I can barely remember it but I remember falling in love with the podcast that day. I think it was a really old one with just JB, Alex and Vinny.
@ybbaaabby: Huh that's odd. I remember playing TS4 when it'd come out and being confused about my sims getting overweight all of a sudden. I'd then looked it up and found out that sims gain weight (in TS4) if you don't make them workout, so I got them a treadmill. Looked it up now again, and it seems that diet does have an effect, so maybe it's just all those nugs as @lyndbakopointed out!
@infinity_thor: Syndicate is the only AC game that I didn't finish cause I found the story to be so dry and boring. I don't even remember where I was or what had happened until that point. Maybe the shift from the usual melodramatic tone of the previous AC games to something light-hearted didn't work for me I dunno... I just found it kinda aimless and lifeless.
I love the AC series so I might still go back and finish it but does the story improve later on? Why do people like it? (Maybe knowing that will help me get into it)
Is Vinny right about the "waking up to dark times" post 80s? Did the world actually become more depressed after that time period (is it a widely agreed upon view) or is it something that only he feels? I'm asking as I was born in the 90s, so I wouldn't know about it.
If it's not a widely agreed upon view, then I feel that time period mood shift might just be him growing older. I also feel that the world was amazing before a certain point of time (pre 2010 ish) and then smartphones ruined our lives. I have more fond memories of playing games before that period, and think that music had an identity specific to its time period until the late 90s (a period that they excluded)
@sethmode: Yeah this is kind of what I assumed, but was wondering if there was anything else that had happened that I wasn't aware of. I couldn't really make the connection between that and a religious cult, but this article I just found kinda explains things: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/donald-trump-far-cry-5-and-the-fallacy-of-political-video-games
I'm guessing the main parallel people expected the game would draw would be about not accepting outsiders?
Non American here - In the Far Cry talk, what sensitive time politically exactly are they referring to that they feel should've been talked about in the game? Anything specific?
