@mezza: Yup I've seen that one (floating buildings right?) so that's probably in the first 5. Think that's the same one where they were trapped in that tiny cottage and Alex shotgun killed someone. That was great!

@jesus_phish: Alright, I think I'll track the best ones through the Best of Giantbomb videos and check the comments for enthusiasm levels ("this episode was great") before watching them. Sounds like it wouldn't be worth the investment of time to watch each one of them all the way through. Thanks!

@captain_insano: Guess I've already watched the early ones since I've basically seen 5/15 of them. Haha 15 is a lot, I don't watch 15 movies in two months even!

I got myself a premium membership only a couple of months back, and since then have been trying to catch up with all the new content! Apart from the premium Hitman videos (almost done with those) and Beast in the East (at episode 9) I've made my way through 4 of the 15 (!) murder island premium videos.

Considering they're all about movie length, and that they keep coming out quite regularly, I was wondering if there are any I should skip? I don't wanna skip any good ones, so I guess my question is, are there any non-good/ bad ones? I don't want to be extremely selective either, otherwise I'd have just watched the very best few.

What do you recommend?

@ntm: Seems related, at least in the part of the brain that's getting...triggered? Would be interesting to research on this topic further and find out whether it is the same thing you're experiencing!

The effect seems to be stronger (for me) when I'm sick/ have a fever. The same thing keeps repeating over and over. Which is why I don't play video games if I'm really sick; I get stuck in a gameplay loop (pushing boxes or something) in my fever dream.

Dreams are weird.

Totally. Was spending a lot of time making a digital painting recently, and I dreamt of the same painting motion in my sleep. Spent a day animating 2d characters in Unity and I dreamt of me making adjustments to the character's movements.

Also, isn't this called the tetris effect?

They've only made the wrong choice once (Skyrim) for their game of the year award so they seem to have the system nailed down.

Surely you mean twice (Shadow of Mordor)

;)

@bobobones: I didn't finish the main game when I'd played it on my laptop, was somewhere close to the end when I decided to come back to after buying myself a more capable machine. I'll definitely be getting the DLC this time! (probably the GOTY edition) It does look pretty great, especially as Toussaint was a pretty cool location in the books as well.

@justin258: Haha good for you. Social media is mostly soul sucking, addictive trash. It has its good bits but the bad is far more. I mainly use it for marketing/ spreading the word about my work but it feels like a chore. Even the people who willingly spend their time on all this feel unhappy using it, it's just addictive! (This is all of course a broad generalization)

Also @imchardo welcome! This is the coolest online community I've been a part of. Hope you have fun!

@pweidman: I'd wandered into his profile recently, seems like he's been active.

I've spent decades trying to get him into video games with many fits and starts. Nothing really stuck until I gave him one of my old Xbox 360s and copies of Mass Effect 1 & 2(he's a Star-Trek fan). After that, he was all-in! Halos', Batmans', Hitmans', Metal Gears', Boarderlands, Deus Ex... he's beaten nearly all of them. Now I regularly get txt messages from him at 5am telling my how he'd been up all night but finally made it past a particular section of a game he'd been playing. Teach a man to fish...

Your dad sounds really cool

@bobobones: It really was about the atmosphere and story for me. Everything felt so... dark and different. And the grey choices! The combat does become fun as you keep playing, evolving into more complicated moves later in the game. And the alchemy was pretty good too! (and the UI/ HUD) It's a pity that most people I've recommended it to can't stick with it because they find it clunky and can't stand the combat.

I'll be giving Witcher 3 another shot in a few months, on my new PS4. I played it on my underpowered laptop when it first came out and had to bear with terrible framerate and the lowest graphic settings. Maybe that colored my experience.

@armaan8014: If you like Fable that much you owe it to yourself to play 2 at some point. I liked it a lot more than the first game but that's me. It's one of the better games of that gen for sure.

Haha, I'll definitely get around to playing it one day. I currently don't live in a place where I can rent consoles or buy used ones for cheap, but once I have the chance I definitely will!
