A very tiny minority of men are going to enjoy reading 50 shades of grey: it's a sex themed novel aimed at women. Does that bother you Patrick? I would guess not. Yet DoA does? Why?

No one should enjoy 50 Shades of Grey, man or woman.

why cant women just say "i feel that's sexist and i don't appreciate it" there and then? complaining on the internet is just a way of avoiding confrontation. I feel if you confront it when it happens 99% of the time you will get an apology and it wont happen again...and if it does take it up with management.

Probably because when it happens to them, they're often a bit too shocked and conditioned (as both genders tend to be) by society to be polite to respond immediately, and by the time it's sunk in for them, some time has passed, and by then they're not sure as to whether to bring it back up or not. Probably because if they do, there may be a risk of being seen as a nag and/or being dropped down the ladder of career advancement.

A lot of the stuff that happens is, I imagine, subtle and slight, but they each do chip away at you--they do carry weight.

To find that Don S. Davis died is sad news indeed. :(  He was great in SG-1.

I was going to say masturbate, but considering it's a Monday, probably not because I have class super-early on Tuesday. :p

Curious to know if anyone who has experience with these sites thinks it significantly helps in narrowing down the people who will have more of the qualities you want, thus wasting less of your time.

I was taught to put two spaces after, and at this point it's a hard habit to break.  Unless the situation requires it, I'm not going to bother changing.

Either way this is not a concern for me.  I'm way more bothered by people who can't use they're/their/there and your/you're properly.

After some additional consideration, I'm going to say Italy.  For a first time experience, that'd probably be much more impressive overall for the summer.  Also, you can fill up on gelato and limoncello.

Kimchi and pickled herring fillets.  I don't mix them together or anything--just put the two into the same bowl and have them as a snack once in a while. :p

I've been to both, and I'll lay out what I thought of them here...

Italy
- Great food, but you inevitably get bored of pasta/pizza.  In fact, I had a horrible break-out during my trip to Italy last year due to the high-carb, low-veg diet there. :(
- Seeing all the locations that were in Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood was very fun
- An overall casual atmosphere; louder people
- Lots of vendors/cab drivers that try to rip you off (probably happened moreso with me because I clearly don't look like a local)

France
- Greater variety in food beyond just pasta and pizza--I could eat in a Paris cafe for a week, no problem, but an Italian trattoria for a week would become repetitive much faster
- Sidewalks often have fresh pigeon/dog/something poo somewhere; I spent so much time looking downwards when walking because I was afraid of stepping in shit
- The people generally seemed to have a haughtier attitude if it was clear you were a tourist/can't understand French, but they are still polite and courteous
- So much pretty architecture, and the places to stay (hotels, apartments, etc.) I felt were overall better than those I was at in Italy

These are strictly my personal impressions, of course.  Both places are filled with famous works of art and national monuments that deserve to be seen in your lifetime.  Maybe consider which place is more exotic/different compared to where you're from?
