@zudthespud: unlocking the framerate in BioShock 2 makes a bigger difference than you might think. With the framerate unlocked, it doesn't drop all that much from 50-60+fps. I'm actually surprised that the game shipped with the default option being with the framerate locked
For those of you who haven't explored the option yet, you can enable "unlock framerate" to disable the v-sync, increasing the game's framerate from being locked at 30 to hovering between 30 and 60+ for a MUCH smoother experience. For the most part, this will result in the game running at a buttery smooth 60fps for the majority of the game.
The only drawback is that for those of us with 60hz TVs/monitors (the majority of us) minor screen tearing will occur frequently, which is only slightly annoying at times. Overall, the tearing is a small price to pay for the drastic increase in frames per second!
After switching the v-sync on and off a few times, I found the game to be much more visually pleasing and playable with the framerate unlocked. If you haven't tried it out yet, make sure to do so before you progress too far through the game!
Videos haven't been loading all the way for me recently. It doesn't matter if I am using IE or Firefox (newest versions), the videos stop loading at a certain point every time. If I try lower quality, it will stop loading a bit further into the video, but the problem persists nonetheless.
