Waluigi is the Mario character I like at this point.

The one thing that is a kind of lame is the DLC is $10, but if you buy the DD complete version they are selling the total cost is only $12.58.

I really like the art of the new enemies. I have been thinking about getting back into the game but might wait a bit. I got my fill of it when it was in EA.

The monsters look great. I love the different animations and how their behavior looks rather dynamic. Transitioning through areas very freely is a big addition.

I like what they have shown. I would guess they are showing the more conservative designs for this early look, but maybe I'm wrong. As I mentioned in another thread, I think this is such a step up that as artists they have so much more to play with as far as detail. I think things may be different but I really like what they are showing.

Maybe co-op. Maybe. But probably not.

I actually think co-op could be great. If you could imagine 4 people getting in place at once and pulling the move at once from disguised positions... it becomes like a heist movie as well.

That's pretty cool.

I think it was funny it was calling him "explorer" throughout ("then he told the explorer"). He was at a museum after all.

@hans_maulwurf: it sucks cause I have to pay attention year round more. I used to like just waiting for the sales more because it was so convenient.

I would have been interested in Sniper Elite 4, but seeing how the "discounted" price on humble right now is what new full price pc games used to cost, I'm not getting my hopes up that it will be significantly cheaper on steam.

Yeah, that's why I just went with Gamestop. Even Total Warhammer will probably only be $30 on the Steam Sale. I don't see Sniper Elite 4 getting lower than that either. The last few Steam sales have been very conservative. There are better sales to be found randomly on different games at other times.

Gamestop actually has a sale on right now that probably is pretty similar. I was impatient so I pulled the trigger on Total War Warhammer for $30. That's the lowest it's been on Steam so I'm not expecting more. I just hope some DLC goes on sale because I will buy that up.

I saw this a little bit ago and forgot to post it, but as far as the game's story goes this is relevant. The lead writer of KOTOR and the first two ME games is the head writer for Anthem. May be different but I don't think there needs to be an assumption the story can't be good or a focus.

http://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-lead-writer-drew-karpyshyn-is-working-on-anthem/

Drew Karpyshyn spent 12 years at BioWare, working on as a designer and writer on everything from Baldur's Gate 2 to Star Wars: The Old Republic, and of course the first two Mass Effect games, on which he served as the lead writer. He left in 2012 but returned in 2015, saying that he was going back to work on The Old Republic.

Earlier this year, however, Karpyshyn acknowledged that he was working on a new game. I speculated at the time that it might be a new KOTOR game that was rumored to be in development, but it turns out that I was wrong.

Unsurprisingly, Karphyshyn is maintaining radio silence about the project, but his presence has to be an encouraging sign for anyone hoping for more from it than 'flying armor shoot-guys making humanity's last stand.'

While Anthem's shared-world approach may not seem like an obvious fit for a studio like BioWare, an injection of its storytelling DNA into the action-adventure genre could lead to a very interesting game.

For example, what if, instead of having your assassinations just doled out one at a time in linear fashion, you were just given the list of targets at the start of the game and then allowed to do them in any order and at any time? I'd then make the targets' homes/fortresses/etc. be pretty elaborate and intricate. You can either go in blind and just go for it, or you could perform some side-tasks in the open world to make things easier on yourself (i.e. destroy a barracks so there are fewer guards, bribe someone to make a map for you, etc.).

I might try to layer a simple nemesis system on top of things to. In other words, maybe make it possible to fail an assassination by having the target escape and you have to hunt them down again. Or if you kill a target but cause a big ruckus doing it the other targets beef up their security and get more alert. Something to shake things up.

I had this thought myself because I was looking into the new Crackdown and it totally has that set up still and has advanced it. For example, in that game if you gain attention by taking down a higher ups men he will hack into all the screens around you in the city and taunt you while he sends in a unit of mechs to try to take you down. It still has the stuff where certain enemies provide security for the gang, others weapons, other vehicles and that changes things. You could totally do that for an AC game. You could do a number of different set ups.

In a lot of ways that would be building off the first game but trying to do it in a more cohesive, organic, and larger way.

I think the "clear outposts" thing is the worst way it could go.
