Still having issues with #5 on bad seeds.  Any subtle hints?  I have a feeling it's an obvious one.

EDIT 2: Turns out I had the right answer, just took forever for it to register.

The authentication server was just down last night due to the immense number of people taking advantage of the sale.  Try it again this morning.

It seems to be working now, I just panicked because it came up with a message saying "There is a temporary Battlent Outage."  I googled it, found some people having a similar issue, and jumped to conclusions.  Seems to be working fine for me now.  Nothing to see here, I guess.  Sorry, folks.

I can't seem to log on to my Battlenet account in StarCraft II.  Just wanted to make sure everyone else was in the same frustrating boat.

I'm entering my sophomore year in college and I'm expecting to be about 45k in the hole by the end of the year.  Hopefully under $100,000 by the time I graduate.  Debt's a bitch.

I'm not really a big fan of shorts in general (on myself).  But that's just me. I'm weird like that. 

I stove it... as long as using a hotpot counts as a sort of stovetop.  The thing gets nasty if I forget to clean it out for a couple days/weeks/over summer vacation.   (Hey... it's college... whaddaya expect?)

Clarification on the crafting... posted by someone in the Steam forums.

The end of finals is in sight.  What does this mean?  I'll be flying home and into the loving embrace of my gaming rig in less than 32 hours.  For the past four months I've been making due with my crap-tastic laptop which struggles to even run DOSBox or the original Half-Life.  God forbid I attempt to run anything less than a decade old.

And of course, there's the TF2 update incoming.  I'll be jumping on Steam the moment I get home to rack up my fair share of Demoman deaths.  Meanwhile, members of the Steam forums seem to be donning their Illuminati costumes and are attempting to deconstruct every and any tiny little detail on the TF2 blog.  I can't say I blame them; much of their crazy theorizing and speculation has paid off in the past.

While there's a chance that TF2 will distract me from singleplayer games entirely, I do still intend to get through Batman: Arkham Asylum. I've bought a 360 controller for the occasion (previously I had made due with a Logitech knock-off).  And despite the fact that I still haven't played the first game, I'm incredibly psyched about the sequel that was just announced.

On top of that I'll almost certainly be playing an unhealthy amount of Left 4 Dead 2, which I still haven't gotten a chance to try out.  I intend on playing through it entirely on singleplayer first (despite what everyone says about playing solo and the intelligence of the bots, I don't want to hop online without having a little experience with the maps).  Afterwards I'll probably run through it multiple times with friends using the splitscreen feature.

Hopefully I'll be seeing a few of you on the other end of my rocket launcher! To WAR!

I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it... I'm surprised Valve wasn't more specific about the capabilities of the crafting system in their blog post.  They absolutely knew that there would be all sort of theorizing and debating about it (and that the controversy would undoubtedly upset certain people).
