I work at Office Depot, and we have a TV display at the front. Normally, we keep all of our TV's spider wrapped (Those ratchet security wraps, that retailers put on expensive products) together, in a line down one of the main aisles.  Well we currently only had one 1 in-box TV. It was a 37" LCD, that we had on display, so we put the last boxed one on the shelf underneath the display. 

Well today, while helping someone with monitors, someone grabbed that TV, and ran out the front door with it. He had someone waiting in a car for him right out front. Someone yelled over our personal radios that someone stole a TV, so I instantly ran up to the front door, along with every other employee in the store. Due to liability issues, we're not allowed to stop shoplifters once they leave the store, so we all just kinda had to stand there at the door.

The best part is, the guy couldn't even get the TV into the car. 

So imagine 5 or 6 employees running up to the front door because someone just grabbed a TV and ran out the front door with it... And them all just standing there as he struggled, and ultimately failed to get this TV in the backseat of his car. They drove off with it half hanging out of their car, and there was nothing any of us could do.

The type of person I am, I really really wanted to just run up and shove the guy over, and pull the TV out of the car. And I almost kept running when I got to the front door to do just that. But in retrospect I'm glad I didn't. I could have gotten severely hurt. Who knows if they had a gun or something... And even if they didn't I would have been fired from my job.

But yeah, it was a fun afternoon.
