Despite an abrupt ending, a game I couldn't stop playing, advanced the fiction of the universe, improved on already stellar mechanics in almost every way, and added new features like guild management.
One of the few games this year I couldn't stop playing until I'd finished it. In fact, the ONLY one that fits that description.
If you want punishing "realism" there's another option. If you want a game that's fun, this is the pick. I choose fun.
Heavy Rain deserves accolades for both trying something new and succeeding.
A game I started in December and probably won't finish until November. Of 2015.
Bugs can (and have) been patched. Interesting characters, a fun storyline, and engaging quests usually don't get added in later. Thankfully they were there at the start.
Limbo gets all the love for downloadable game of 2010, but this was a fun, bite-sized, adventure game that had me laughing and wishing there was more once it was over.
A fun little platformer that isn't without its faults, but did bring a smile to my face as I played it.
Tight controls, a deep franchise mode and the debut of the Ultimate Hockey League all add up to an awesome experience.
I'll never take the inventory of an RPG's item shop for granted again.
