Mystery Heroes is good to play a lot of at the beginning. In order to have success with OW you have to have a decent understanding of all the heroes' abilities, not just yours. Also, pick a hero with a lot of self-healing and escape abilities as your main to start with so that you don't die constantly. Moira, Roadhog, or Mei would be good.

Patrick, you are the only person at Giant Bomb trying to do some actual critical thinking about video games, and I love you for it. The other stuff is great, and I love what Jeff and the rest do, but you've definitely found your niche.

Edit: Oh, and also, Alex's reviews are great. :)

I've been skeptical about every non-core person Giant Bomb has added, and been wrong about all of them. Alex's writing has turned out to be brilliant, and Patrick's indie coverage has been amazing, and some of the stuff I most look forward to at Giant Bomb. Danny's video stuff is great fun, and I'd be happy to go to Giant Bomb instead of YouTube to watch it, but I'm not sure that's necessary. I'd be just as happy for him to just keep showing up during live shows and bombcasts once in a while. He seems like he's really hitting his stride.

Oh wow, I just totally Necro'd this thread.

Nice reporting. EVE is completely bonkers to me. It's like these people live two separate lives.

[Edit] : Also, Patrick, you've become my favorite person at Giant Bomb. You do things nobody else there does, and it's appreciated.
