I'd like some cool things, especially ah-nee-may posters.

I will also second DrZing's advice that 2x DisplayPort is probably the best setup for multiple monitors these days, especially since most monitors use older HDMI ports which limit their usefulness when used with a high-end monitor.

First off: get the Predator, it's a great monitor (I own the 271HU and HK, which is the 4k GSync in the same product line).

Second: the microstutters are a noted issue that NVidia has been seeking to resolve in recent hotfix drivers - you might notice a lower incidence rate of problems with stutter after installing it (I did.) I'll say that borderless gaming still hasn't been as good as it used to be before the last few Win10 updates (I'm no longer able to get above 60hz refresh rates in games that still support that no problem in fullscreen mode), but I also no longer see jank or judder when running borderless fullscreen.

Are there towers?

There are sync point(s) in each city, which principally act as fast travel points.

Are the weapons meaningless?

There are certain weapon affixes that'll you'll find you like much better than others. That said, I like most of the different KINDS of weapons, including 2 or 3 different kinds of bows and most of the different styles of melee weapon. The leveling system in this game is such that (goofy as it is from a story perspective) a stealth neckstab, especially on a same or higher-level enemy, is NOT necessarily an instant kill.

Is the story better?

It's not amazing, but Bayek is genuinely likable, which helps a lot. It's a neat setting, too.

Have they shaken up the core gameplay?

It's a lot more about traversal now, as per the increased focus on open world and traveling back and forth between areas. That and assailing enemy camps of varying sizes to merc their commanders and steal their loot to search for new weapons and armor. Combat is also arguably more of a focus, which is generally good since I feel like they did a good job with the combat in this one.

Are the side-quests interesting?

They come in a lot more flavors and sizes. Everything from the random "clear out this alligator den" you might find when crossing a tributary to the more fully-fleshed "help this person and gain some insight into this area and maybe the boss you're after also" style of mission you're alluding to. I think a decent number of the side quests do a good job enhancing the characters and setting, and most are fun to play. Even the bad ones aren't too tedious.

Hope this helps. I haven't gone back in for the DLC yet (despite owning it), but I'd say the game gets somewhere around an 8 to 8.5 from me. I enjoyed it more than I expected to, given a not entirely dissimilar history to yours with the AC series. It's not entirely transformative, but it makes a lot of smart changes and dispenses with a lot of the crappier trappings the series has held on to since the days of Desmond Miles.

As far as a single copy of a game with no additional in-game purchases or the like, it's probably The Witcher 3 Collectors Edition at $150, followed by the Dark Souls 3 Collector's Edition (which I don't believe was actually the highest-end version of the game available) at $130, and the Last Guardian CE at $101. The World of Final Fantasy CE would be right up there at $130, but I got that at half price from someone else.

As for a single game overall... I played Marvel Heroes for several years there, so probably a least a couple hundred into that. I think I played Final Fantasy 14 for long enough to come in over $100 total there, too.

@zeik said:

I spent over $100 on the Ni no Kuni Wizard's Edition when it came out. It's only time I've spent that much on a Collector's edition, but it was worth it.

I'm pretty sure that re-sells for considerably more than that these days, so "worth it" is certainly an apt description.

Best guesses? In order:

Yes, no, no, no, yes, yes, no.

You could always check www.canirunit.com for a quick view at the minimum recommended requirements for any game, or to see how your computer stacks up against them.

Suddenly Aaron Greenberg's comments about the new dash in the Giant Bomb Presents interview (about how this dash was a "true beta experience") make a lot of sense. Once I signed my console up and THEN saw all the compatibility notes and stuff, I knew it was going to be a rough couple months for my poor X-bone. Still haven't gotten to play Rock Band 4 properly since my console updated like 2 days after that game came out :/
