@tacosake: Those are fair criticisms and I should have been more clear that, like, I don't think it's a perfect depiction of those issues, but the story parts are largely treated with more gravity than I'd honestly expect out of a big-budget thing from Japan. It's still definitely trying to do the Yakuza thing of toting the line between silly game and serious game and in cases like that it can blur a little too much, and I think a lot of that comes from Japan's less... 'awareness' I guess on stuff coming off as gags against the thing they are making jokes on. From a western perspective it can definitely come off as crass.
I also think the story thing with Nanba is less "he was never homeless, sike!!" and more like, he put himself through some shit to get to his brother. The story stuff you get out of him when you rank his friendship up makes it pretty clear he like, fucked himself over into poverty regardless of his brother's situation, and he's like... still struggling when homeless it's not like he's occasionally going home to some secret apartment or anything. But again, I read it a bit differently so. I won't talk against any criticisms against that stuff. Like I said, it's not perfect.
I'm guessing so, since they usually record on Thursday's. Probably broke just after or during recording.
It broke as we recorded. We saw the news literally on our way out the lobby door and I screamed at myself for not being able to talk about it considering I gushed about D2 for like 25 minutes lmao
@wastrel: I can't imagine it'd make its way here. :( It heavily relies on Aime and they'd have to establish a support network for that, on top of having to figure out licensing negotiations for other territories since its soundtrack is largely licensed anime/vocaloid music.
@dudeglove: Hopefully!I'd imagine the deal they have is similar to the one they made for Rez HD.
