Week 3 2010

Another week down, another huge Colts victory! Go Peyton Manning! They stared a little shaky and i was getting nervous, but Peyton came through in the end, one more game guys! Also Brett Farve lost, and he did it in style throwing an interception to give up the winning field goal try! Does it get any better that that! Back to gaming...

Week 3 2010

Dragon Age:
Completed Dragon Age on Tuesday, what more can I say. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish, cant think of many faults with it. I was challenge, on the verge of giving up at times, the sense of great accomplishment on finally slaying a boss that was destroying my party, utterly hopeless. Great characters, very fleshed out, I cared what they said and hated when I lost one of them at the end, but a man needs his limits and I would not stoop to that level, if you have beat it then you know what I'm talking about. Have to somehow find time to revisit it later, really want to see the story from a different perspective, and play as a mage, they are really fun to mess around with.

Dirt 2:
Got back to dirt 2 after all these weeks. But it seams my opinions of it have changed. Making good progress, level 19 i believe. Still great fun, the feeling of being on the edge of control one millisecond away from flying off the track. almost tiring, trying to keep it all together holding on to the car as it fly's down winding dirt roads seconds from disaster. Its all good, but If I hear some one say "Hey Dan" one more time I'm gonna go ballistic, the constant chatter from ofter drivers has gotten on my nerves, I don't even know who these people are, Tanner Foust who? I don't care. Got an achievement for making friends with Ken Block, I don't have any real friends so I'm not sure if its normal, but If I purposeful run you off the track and smash up your ride, why are you my friend? I hate you! I don't even know who you are suppose to be! There is nothing really wrong with Dirt2, it is firing on all cylinders if you will, everything it does it does well. But the tight confided track, congested starting lines, lead to great frustration. The pack is just a jumbled mess, leading me to restart many a race after a few seconds of shunting and twisting around. Plus the extreme sports, red bull drinking vibe is not my cup of tea (but I would take a cup of tea). Feels like a need for speed game, or an Action off-road racer, such as Motorstorm. And I like Motorstorm, I bought the sequel a few weeks ago. But I didn't come here to make friends with Ken Block, I came here to rally. Why are there so few rally events! Dirt 1 had some of the best rally racing in years! Feels like every race is a truck or buggy circuit race. That's fine if you like that but I want to rally on wide open long tracks, hill climbs, anything. I feel like I need to ask Dirt2 out and have a long chat. "Your a really nice game honestly, your very pretty, you have great controls, you presentation is top notch, but I just don't feel we are right for each other, It not you its me. I'm just not ready for a relationship with Ken Block right now!"

Left 4 Dead 2:
Began playing L4D2 earnestly this week, mostly in response to by souring opinion on Dirt2 (we have agreed to see other people). A what good wholesome family fun I'm having! Totally missed the first game, and I regret that now. Awesome stat forward action, no messing around here, just a screaming horde of blood thirst zombies. Kind of an old school FPS,  there are tons of bad guys, shoot em! There is much more to that, loots of cool co-op activities. But when it comes down to it, a pure shooter in essence. So unashamed of its violence, celebrating it. The Source engine is beginning to show its age, but they have perfected zombie violence. The limps and organs a plenty, Ah memories...

Next!

Gonna continue with Dirt2, see if I can get a little further in without becoming to frustrated, like I said shes a great game, just not my type. Will definitely try and find some time for L4D2, but this week is gonna be about one game and one game only.

Mass Effect 2:
Oh yeah, its is here! So glad I finished Dragon Age before this, now I can put my full attention to mass effect. Everything I have seen so far, and the hype factory has been working overtime on videos and preview, look fantastic. The visuals look to be vastly improved and the action looks much more fast paced and exciting. Plus the original is still one of my all time top 360 games, cant wit to bring my Adept Commander Sheppard out of retirement, the galaxy needs him once again! Cant wait for Tuesday!
