Naoto... how did you even get an Uzi as a teenager in Japan?
You know on second thought, considering they're managing to smuggle bikes inside the TV world, that's probably not the first question I should be asking.
Huh, looks like all the profits from volume 1 and 2 let them go back and fix some of the really bad quality moments in volume 3. Granted it's not perfect, but definitely looking better.
Definitively agree with the way they handled the shadow scene, the game scenes always felt weak, especially Naoto where the two of them are just standing there. With Naoto remaining calm until near the end when she suddenly starts breaking down because, HEY WE GOTTA HAVE THIS BOSS FIGHT. The way the anime handled Naoto's in particular was great, the changing colors, the monitors, her shadow's mannerisms all add up to being something that believably causes the normally cool and collected Naoto to lose it. Overall I've enjoyed the way they handled almost everyone's shadow scenes so far, the exception being Kanji who sadly it seems the rather good treatment that happened in the game was all thanks to Atlus's localization team.
I think the aged Yosuke thing is carrying into the next episode, the preview had Yosuke saying a line in that old voice he had. Also once again they've fit in the boss special attacks and status ailments nicely, Shadow Naoto had Galgalim Eye that inflicted Enervation and knocked you down to 1 HP, and what happened to Yosuke seems like a good way of representing that.
I think that has something to do with the fact that in the game, they're standing 5 feet apart with nothing happening the entire time. In the anime? A rising platform, all those TV screens, the changing color lights, and the shadow slowly approaching all crazy insane stalker like had something to do with a breakdown I think.
