Carrion
I played through Carrion over the weekend. The number of mechanics and the length of the game are perfectly matched to make it a fun weekend binge. And the ending is superb.
Personally, I love the fact that enemies don't respawn. It makes exploration so much easier. There were a couple of times where I put it down for a while, came back, and it took a bit of exploring to remember where I had to go next. If enemies respawned I think it would've been too much of a slog for me.
One thing I wish it had was fast travel. You're this blob monster spreading your biomass all over the place so why not have the ability to enter one save point and exit another? They're all a part of your biomass. I guess there isn't a good reason to backtrack through the levels unless, like me, you realized you missed some upgrades but were too far away from that part of the map to remember how to get back there.
Overall, awesome game. It's on Game Pass. I recommend checking it out!
Spiritfarer
It's very charming and has some neat ideas. My cat really liked the fishing!
It's also way outside my wheelhouse. I gave it a whirl because Vinny (I think) said he really enjoyed it. There's zero chance I would've played this if not for Game Pass. So, kudos to Game Pass for allowing me to try a game I normally wouldn't have even though I probably won't play any more of it.
Journey to the Savage Planet
I've been playing this co-op and it's fun! It's been a good game to pop into for an hour or two at the end of the day.
We've been focusing on the main mission which is pretty short. We're about six hours in and it seems like we're near the end. I'm guessing we'll get around eight hours out of it. There's quite a bit of side stuff we haven't touched though.
It's yet another Game Pass game if you want to check it out.
