I'm still skeptical that Saints Row will get it. Liking a game a lot and holistically calling it the best game of the year are two completely different things. For instance, the game I liked the most of 2010 was Just Cause 2, but I still consider Red Dead to be the best game that came out that year.
Currently, GTAIII is on sale for three bucks on the iOS store. That is, of course, a rock bottom price and a helluva deal for one of the better games of the 2000s. However, I've heard some very negative things about the touch controls for the game and was wondering if they really do make the game as unplayable as reviewers are painting it. Is it that bad or are people overreacting? In particular, how bad is it on the smaller devices (I would only be playing it on an iPhone)?
I thought the Emperor asking you politely to go murder the guy who hired you was really, really awesome. Also, the decoy thing was, I found, an excellent twist.
I like New Vegas much more than 3. The faction interplay is an excellent mechanic (one I was very sad wasn't used in Skyrim), the side quests are highly entertaining, moreso than 3 (Oh you magnificent ghouls in your rocket ships!) and iron sights are very nice. Also, the landscape feels more open and a lot less cluttered than 3.
I was really disappointed with skyrim for various reasons and I'm looking for a strong RPG something along the lines of either baldur's gate 2, dragon age 1, deus ex hr or even mass effect.
Good gameplay, combat and a semi-decent challenge level are a must.
