I never met Ryan Davis, I never spoke with Ryan Davis, and in fact I never directly interacted with Ryan Davis. However, Ryan Davis made me the man that I am today.
I had never really followed gamespot, but when the podcast that would eventually become the Giant Bombcast started I was there. Ryan was the first person, who I respected, who made me realize that something didn’t necessarily have to have some sort of philosophical underpinning in order to have worth.
More so than talking about video games, Ryan taught me to enjoy the dumb things in life, to always have fun, and to always enjoy every moment that you are alive. Those are lessons more important than any review, quicklook, or podcast.
Ryan, you have left a hole in someone’s life who never even met you. If that’s not the sign of a life well lived I don’t know what is.
