@Breadfan: Warhammer 40K is the king of spantasy. You basically have a bunch of 12 foot tall, genetically engineered space paladins going around on behalf of a once ultra powerful warrior-pope now in techno-traction, purging the galaxy of space ork fungusmen and a wide variety of other spantasy favorites. There's also mecha and regular man is depicted as some ultra-cruel soviet regime.

I'm likely in the minority, but I use my computer (this includes gaming) standing up. I used to have this knee problem that was aggravated when sitting down for too long, so I ditched chairs in general. Spending most of my day standing has also helped strengthen up my back.

I don't have a desk, I just put my laptop on a counter top, and go about business as usual.

I loved the first game. I actually prefer the AVWW's art style to that of the sequel. The first was kind of like a patchwork of different styles tied together - akin to how the setting of the game was made up of shattered realities. Everything had a strange sort of high quality sheen about it. Coupled with the jerky animation - it made for a unique feeling of locomotion.

When I play games, I usually do so standing up with a gamepad, and the same with AVWW. So, I used the auto lock feature to play the game, and I really enjoyed it. I heard some people justify the new 4 way only controls as an effort to guarantee a similar gaming experience between gamepad users and keyboard users. And I'll admit that AVWW wasn't the hardest when played it how I did, but I really enjoyed the experience, solely for the setting. I consider the sequel's art style to be more uniform, but I find it to be a bit bland - kind of like a flash game.

With the current controls, I feel a bit more tied down. While I wasn't ever aiming in AVWW, I felt much more free than I did in AVWW2.

AVWW2 has a more involved turnbased metagame involved, but I never really cared for that element in games. It's just not my sort of genre. In general, AVWW2 seems more like a spiritual successor than a direct sequel. It's put together well enough, but right now, I don't care for the game to much. However, Arcen is a pretty amazing game developer. They did a lot with AVWW with every single update, and the very same could happen with AVWW 2 - for the better.

The one thing that I love about AVWW 2 is the size of the buildings and levels. Sometimes, there was a bit too much exploration in AVWW - an issue addressed with alright enough with patching. But all of the map tiles played out at a much quicker pace than AVWW.

@Daveyo520: As I typed that, I considered using AM and PM, but part of me wants the 24 time notation to take off in the states.  So, I decided to be a trend setter and use 24 hour notation.  More than likely, no one will understand what time I'm talking about, and I'll just be that guy who talks in military time.  By the way, what does DP and ER stand for?

To translate my old post: I go to bed at 8:30 PM to wake up for 4:30 AM.  During my University's winter break I went to bed at 7:30 AM and woke up at 3:30 PM.

@Penelope: I have a strong desire to teach English in Japan.  Right now, I'm an alternate candidate for the JET program.  If they don't take me, then I'm going to look for other ways to teach English in Asia.  Could you offer me any advice?

Am I a teacher?  Kind of.  I substitute teach.  I enjoy the job quite a bit.  It could be nice to take on a full time teaching position, but my B.A. is in English, and I'd have no real interest in teaching the subject.  Also, if I go back to school, I'd rather it not be for education.  I've spoken to a lot of people in education programs, and the classes don't interest me.  If anything, I'd rather apply to work at private schools.

I also teach private Karate lessons.

Amen.  I don't care for online games either.

As for something that I've never done: I've never bought a console on release.  The last console I bought was a Dreamcast, and I didn't snag one until 2 or 3 years after it launched.  Also, I've never sent a text message from my cell phone.

Yeah, something like Terminatorade.  You could do a bizarre tie-in with Warhammer 40K.

"Quenched by the Emperors Will!"

Flavors?  Ultramarine Acai, Blood Raven Raspberry, and Fruit Punch of the 20 Primarchs.  Also, Eldarberry.

I am my own barber.  Though, I take a very simplistic approach to grooming: either I shave my hair down to the skin, or I leave it untouched for months on end.  I've been sporting a full beard and top knot for the past year.  I like the look and feel of it.  I may never cut my hair again.

As for you: even if you do shave your hair all the way down, and you don't like it, you might be surprised with how fast it grows back.  Back when I shave my hair down, I'd have noticeable hair in about a week.  And who knows, maybe a shaved head will look good on you.   I'd consider this an opportunity to be forced into trying something new.  And let's pretend that you do look horrible with a shaved head: if anyone mocks you, you can politely tell them how much more absurd you would look with a rectangle on your head.

Early to bed, early to rise; 20:30 to bed, 4:30 to rise.  During the weekends I get up around 6:00.  However, I can feel my sleep pattern shifting a bit, so this may change in the coming weeks.

There were a few months where I took on a more nocturnal sleep pattern.  I would go to bed at 7:30 and wake up around 15:30.
