7: when raids happen they break structures if you don't defend. This stops resource creation at those structures, and they cost resources to repair. I once lost over 1000 caps worth of water crop because a raid damaged my water generators. They also break turrets which then need repair, and can sometimes kill settlers which hurts your economy.

Shit, this is the thing I was most worried about. My Sanctuary settlement is (or seems like it would be) pretty secure right now as I have machine gun turrets on the corners of the roofs of basically every building. So unless the range is a LOT shorter than I think it is, there isn't really anywhere* you can go that's not in the line of sight of at least 4 or 5 turrets.

*Except for down by the river, where all my water purifiers are. Ugggghhhhh. At the very least, I've got like 1300 purified waters stockpiled that I can sell for caps if I ever need a BUNCH of money.

@zombiepie: Speaking of which, did you ever finish that LP/diary of your playthrough? The last one I saw was from where you got up TO the end but split the ending itself off into its own entry (because apparently it was a real doozy).

I figure you did finish it and I simply missed that update.

I still feel like the numbers are a bit skewed by the fact that he started with the Mexican pizza and gave it a 90. On the other hand, he did still do right by the spicy potato soft taco with a solid 94, so all is good.

@charlie_victor_bravo, you've convinced me that Sentient has the potential to be a hell of a stream. Frankly, it was the fact that Vinny can (and probably will, at some point) turn off vital life support systems.

After unexpectedly seeing my dream of GBEast playing Toonstruck realized, I feel it's only fair to help someone else's seemingly longshot dream come true.

@dietomaha: The energy stuff was bad, but the "Please use the stylus" thing was definitely the dealbreaker.

When you're standing in a building you've built entirely from scratch, how do you place/move stuff around without the cursor constantly snapping to/grabbing walls and floor panels? You can't select pre-built structures in Sanctuary so that hasn't been a problem, but when I tried building on the foundation of a wrecked house, I could hardly do anything.

I still choose to believe that canonically, roughly (complete guess) 1 in 4 people in the Commonwealth were ardent nudists.

What are you talking about? I've been tirelessly data mining the games files since release to find the answer to this specific phenomenon. Are you saying I've been wasting all this time?

I don't have the knowledge or skills to do that sort of thing so I shouldn't seriously concern myself with the investigation. But you should keep on fighting the good fight and report back if you discover anything!

At the beginning of the game, you pass ladies in dresses, dudes in shirts & slacks, and people in various uniforms on your way to the vault entrance. When you wake up 200+ years later, you find skeletons in those exact same vault suits, military uniforms, shirts, dresses, etc. In many other places, you find more remains that are nothing but bones and clothes.

This establishes that clothing (in this universe, anyway) can somehow survive over 20 decades of exposure to sun, wind, rain, radiation, and animals.

So what is up with all the plain old skeleton-ass skeletons? Are we to assume that there's some significant percentage of people in the Commonwealth that were running around butt naked (or were naked at their time of death at least)?

I thought about the possible explanation of looters and scavengers swiping clothes off of the bodies, but I've run into several cases of bare skeletons by themselves in rooms locked from the inside. What's up with that?!

My current weapon of choice is the Righteous Authority with a collection of more or less contradictory mods on it.

  • A sniper rifle barrel for long range and high damage (but lower ammo capacity)
  • A short-mid range reflex scope so I can get 5 or 6 shots off in VATS with 1 AP bar
  • A pistol grip so my Gunslinger perk can boost its damage

I should probably get around to putting some points into perks for rifles and/or automatic weapons so I can start building guns that make sense.

*PS: Does the sniper perk boost damage for pistols with scopes or is it just rifles? Also, shotguns fall under the rifle category when it comes to perks, right?
