Why I will never buy a Wii

First let me start by saying that i'm a fanboy of no one certain company (as I own both a 360 and now a PS3) with that said no matter how cheap it gets i'll never buy a Wii.  Not because I hate Nintendo in fact i'm a fan of alot of their ip's and have owned plenty of Nintendo consoles in my life.  As my bio states I have Cerebral Palsy and most of the games require you to either be standing or have lightning reflexes and I lack either of those things.  I just don't see buying a console that I can't get any use in.  Now I know there is the classic controller but since it doesn't support every game its not an option.  I just wanted to share my thoughts and explain why I will never own a Wii.

Yeah, Mr_Bubbles. As someone who has CP as well, it's a bitch to explain.

No, they don't. 95% of Wii games you can play sitting comfortably with your hands resting on your lap.  Methinks you let the Nintendo commercials misguide you. "
You mean you don't regularly do a leaping dive into a roll behind the couch while playing Wii games? "
i lol'd  What is Cerebral Palsy anyway? i had a thing called Bells Palsy for a while, which paralyzes one side of your face, it's really weird. it can be temporary or permanent (temporary in my case)  and there is no definite cause, and i even had to wear an eye patch because i couldn't close my eye. "

Rather then go into a long explantion see this  http://children.webmd.com/tc/cerebral-palsy-topic-overview

Cerebral palsy (CP) (also cerebral pares) is an umbrella term encompassing a group of non-progressive,, non- contagious motor conditions that cause physical disability in human development

@MB There goes my sarcasm detector again.  Most of my problem comes from having to use the Nunchuck in my left hand which is extremly weak, games that use the Wiimote and classic controller aren't so bad.

In fact, the ridiculous movements people make are a choice.  Playing Zelda with the Wiimote and nunchuck requires barely any movement.  Light gun games are probaably out though.

Good luck with your condition.

As a long-time Nintendo fan who has owned the console since launch, take it from me when I say, "Dude, you're not missing all that much".

Not many Wii games do require you to be standing up and such, but Cerebral Palsy sucks. I knew a really good guy with Cerebral Palsy who passed away a few years ago.

If you can play 360 or PS3, you can play Wii.

Most motion control games require very little movement. Seriously.

Well, you know there are games that don't even require movement. Games like Muramasa and Super Paper Mario.

I have that belief as well not just with games but with every purchase I make.

As an ardent Wii supporter, I am of the belief that the only reason anyone ever needs to not own anything is that they do not have enough reasons to own it.

Although, having concrete reasons not to own it, like in your case, makes perfect sense too.

Your right there are good games SMG, Punch Out, Zelda, like I said it's not the games that drive me away its my physical inability to play them.

I never said there weren't enough good games on the wii to make not worth owning, but there are fewer games that appeal to my personal tastes than the Xbox or PC. Mario Galaxy is pretty awesome, even if the end result is probably motion sickness.

Well, at least you have an actual reason not to own a wii, as opposed to blind fanboyism. Don't worry, you aren't missing a whole ton.

Um....OK? Sort of a weird (but perfectly understandable) reason not to purchase a Wii.

Thats too bad but I understand you, well kinda. I don't have  Cerebral Palsy but if I play the Wii for more then hour my wrists start to hurt. I don't really like the Wii mote design at all. It forces your hand into an unnatural form.
