I was motivated to make this thread based on an awesome gif I saw of Jeff dancing to Dance Central. If anyone has that gif, a million blessings to you if you would be willing to share it here.
@StrikerTheLizard: Your formula is a little off. It's actually something like this: create great website, everything free, grow community, use up massive amounts of bandwidth, go to the community instead of corporate to cover costs, ?????, profit.
For the record, the only thing being changed for non-subscribers is the Bombcast being split. You're not losing any bit of it, just getting half of it a week later. They mention flat-out in the discussion podcast (did you listen to it? I'm guessing not) that one of their missions is to avoid those annoying ads. Also, I don't remember hearing mention of any necks being shat down.
ps. you don't have to pay. you can still access the site if you don't. it's crazy like that.
@Lumley: I seem to remember them saying something about it costing extra to cover cross-country shipping. I'm guessing the monthly stays around the same though.
