And here I was thinking this game was lost to the sands of time. Neat concept and might be fun with friends. This guy is seriously deluding himself going on on the esports angle though.
Sadly this was a pretty lackluster QL. If it wasn't for Dan's 10+ year old knowledge of the game, I wouldn't have gotten any real information for a video that was almost 50 minutes other than the bit I already knew, it has a cool art style.
I drove from Amarillo, TX to Denver, CO listening to Day 2 the entire way minus 15 minutes on the front and end of the trip. This made it an amazing drive.
I feel like Abby getting hung up on Nier being a "porny" game before she played it has tainted her impressions going into the game. It seems like she is being a bit more harsh and dismissive than the game deserves. Yes, 2b is an attractive character and Yoko Toro is refreshingly open that he likes attractive women. The game itself is not sexually tantalizing at all and it tells a story with gameplay in a way that other mediums could not. To make such a big issue about something that has such little impact on the actual game just seems a bit neo-puritanical.
I am always amazed that Sonic still has some crazy dedicated fandom even though there hasn't been a good Sonic game since the 90s (with the exception of Sonic Mania.)
This game just looks boring. It is stuck between being not interesting or fun enough to be good and not being such a train wreck that it is humorous in a flawed way.
I really can't fault Brad for getting frustrated. Nothing is worse than bad controls/camera making a game artificially challenging. It is sad because I was really enjoying the chill Hohokum/Abzu vibe.
I have never gone from potentially interested going into a video to "there is nothing about this that appeals to me" so fast. It is a real bummer because I passed on Forza 7 for obvious reasons this year and I didn't like the first PCars that much so I am weary about its sequel.
