I'm disgusted by the fact that the show is all about exploiting Americans' new found fear of Arabs and Islam by making the good blond guy chase all kinds of bearded brownies with fake ass random ass Arabic names and bring their terrorist ass to justice.

Fuck that offensive show.

Have you actually seen a whole season of the show? Spoiler alert I guess, but usually there are white rich guys manipulating everything and those are the real bad guys in that show.

For the people saying watch the Spec Ops story stuff on youtube to skip the gameplay...yeah you could do that, but the experience isn't the same. It's one thing to watch all those things happen. It's another to DO them. It's not comparable.

Yep It's like comparing reading a book where you imagine most thing and fill the missing parts and watching a movie about the book where there is probably less interaction.

Maybe don't play it in Dx11 mode and don't max out all the settings?

Anyway I was thinking on buying this but I guess my ATI 5750 is going to burn if I try to play this, or I'm going to have to run it in really poor settings...I guess I'll play the PS3 version...maybe?

Yes, VGAs for sure. That would explain this tweet from Geoff Keighley. It does not seem to be an "intentional leak" or maybe Bungie was upset with Keighley and the whole Doritos thing.

Seeing the state of Xbox Live and PSN, the exclusives both have currently and extrapolating from that I would say PS4. I seriously don't like how MS is handling their console business.

Whoever says this year was good in video games is very easily amused. This year fucking sucked. Last year had Dark Souls, you really want to compare this year's games to that? Seriously, most games this year are just boring or uninteresting. Walking Dead is a movie (a good one but a movie still), Journey was beautiful but without replayability (more akin to a nice painting. Not much interactive value beyond the first 2 hours), Hotline Miami is too simple to be considered meaningful beyond it's fun premise, Mark of the Ninja is the best one I played this year and still not as good as I would hope for in a GOTY list, FTL is just ok, X-COM is good, Dust: Elysian Tale is afFurry metroid its good but hey... it's a furry metroid, Fez, although good, very gimmicky, Torchlight 2 is ok but nothing revolutionary, and RE6/ASS CREED/DIABLO 3 were all horribly dissapointing. I understand I'm being quite cynical about this but come on, don't lower your standards for gods sake. Video games are expensive and most of them this year weren't worth my time. Here's me hoping Far Cry 3 is. This is all to be expected though, with this being the longest time we've had without new consoles in the history of gaming.

I think it was a good year and I don't think I have low standard, also I did not like Dark Souls very much, if that is your example the last year was amazing is not a very good one. Maybe the thingsis this year had a lot of good games that you did not like? that does not make them bad, just as Dark Souls is not a bad game because I don't like it.

Walking Dead is not a movie it is a videogame, it is interactive and how you shape the little details of the story is the gameplay, it's not the traditional move a controller, push a button and things happen.

The fact that you discard Dust you because of it's aesthetics it's just your bias against that style, that does not make the game universally worse.

I think X-Com is amazing not just "good", maybe you just don't like that kind of game.

I would suggest you play Sleeping Dogs and Binary Theory, which are probably very cheap by now, but I played them on PC and you seem to be a console player and I don't know how good or bad are those version technically. Also it seems he have very different taste in videogames so maybe this games that I think are very good you are just going to think are ok or disappointing.

I have said this before Sony does not have the capacity to sell a new console next year (at least not one that is as powerful as people think is going to be, and at an affordable price) and probably not until the end of 2014 or maybe later. But like others have said their games division is the most profitable one, they just need to focus on PSN and convince the millions of PS3 user that there is value in that service, they need to continue to make really great games.

They wont skip the next gen but surely they we'll be the very last ones to join in.

@WinterSnowblind:

There are rumors about the next MS console, codename Durango, which is what everyone thinks is going to be released next year. There are also less believable rumors about an Xbox branded Surface tablet which I thinks is what you are talking about. There is also an even less believeable rumor that MS is working on a Apple TV-like device which that is focused more on streaming content and also playing Xbox Live Arcade kind of games.

Is very possible MS releases something next year but Sony not so much. To release a powerful console like everyone expect, they either sell it at a really "expensive" price (450 or 500 USD) or they subside the price to sell more consoles. Sony is in big financial troubles and nowadays their most profitable bushiness is videogames, but that is because they are selling a console at a price over the cost and they have a huge user base that buys games and also an increasing number of people using their PSN service. If they are responsible with their company they can't take the risk of releasing a new console at a competitive price. Also I would like to point out that Sony is still working strong on PS3 games, there is The Last of Us (which seems its going to be a end of the year title), Beyond Two Souls and hopefully The Last Guardian.

MS can release a next gen console but the questions is, do they need it?. The make a huge portion of their money Live subscriptions, ads, and that sweet Call of Duty money... apparently people still love their Call of Duty by the sales of the last one. Besides that and Halo, and Gears of War, does MS care that much about games this days? Let's hope I'm wrong and they change their business strategy soon.

Finally, yes Nintendo has a history of being unfriendly to Indie developers but apparently they change a lot for the WiiU, they guys that made Trine 2 said Nintendo lets them set the price of the game, control when to do a sale, Nintendo is not making them pay for patches (unlike MS and Sony do now) and apparently is not putting restrictions on the number of patches. I'm guessing Nintendo intends to make some sort of "Indie Club" and let them play by this rules and not let everyone do whatever the y like, but still is a lot better than standard on consoles. Yes, this is not enough to gain mass appeal, but I think a console that has Nintendo games and a lot of indie titles (which are more likely going to use that gamepad in interesting ways) is something that could be interesting to a big number of people, at least enough for Nintendo not to disappear or become a third party like some think is going to happen.

I still find kind of funny that people assume as a fact that there is going to be a new console next year, its really possible but still not a fact. Its going to be extra funny if those rumors of a Xbox Tv device is what actually MS releases next year.

Anyway, even if there are new consoles next year publishers are not going to jump from a 100 million+ market to one with only 5 million user. They are going to try to make their games scaleable at least for a couple of years, so the WiiU power is not going to be a problem until 2015 probably.

Finally, if this year is any indication power and big budgets are not longer necessary to make great games. If Nintendo continues to implement Indie friendly policies, like it seems its doing, there is going to be plenty of good games available on that console.
