If you like them, check out Symphony X and Adagio. Both quite proggy, and Michael Romeo from Symphony X gives Petrucci a run for his money in guitar skill badassitude.

And here's Adagio, proggy in many of their songs but really symphonic as well.   This song isn't quite as proggy but is still quite fun.

Sorry for going off topic, it's just when I see people who like similar music to me I must ensure that they learn of more music they might potentially like.

Like others on that list he died long before he should have, and maybe its my age showing but Randy Rhoads will always be my favorite guitarist.

Solid answer.  Better than the million people who said Frusciante, who's nothing special. Randy was hugely influential in 80s music.

For me it's a toss up between Jason Becker, Shawn Lane,  maybe Yngwie Malmsteen (because he has had a huge influence on shred, which was a huge interest of mine a few years back).

Haha yeah right, like I had to even think twice.  For me, it's Jason Becker, any other option is just insignificant to me.  He is a musical genius but unfortunately he can't play anymore thanks to ALS.  He had the potential to be one of the best guitar players of all time but was hit with ALS far too young.  However, he's a fighter and has lived with the disease for over 20 years now and still writes music, even though he can only move a couple muscles in his body.  He writes it and gets his huge list of musical friends to play it for him.  There's already been a documentary on him and new one should be out this year.

I spent months (actually probably over a year in total. I came back to it a lot)  learning this Jason Becker song, and it made me gain a huge appreciation for the man.

So many fond memories of this game. I must have beat it 4 or 5 times by now.  It's a lot of fun.

26. I have a few tendencies seen in Autistic/Aspergers people but I doubt I have it (For example, I look for patterns in everything and notice weird details in things almost no one else I know will notice). Just bubbles in paint and flaws in the stipple and whatnot). I'm just super shy and always have been.

Back to my physics homework and Compton's Most Wanted.

Never liked her, and this doesn't surprise me. It's like on the e3 Bombcast when people started sneaking away because they were annoyed with her, then started the rebel podcast outside from someones phone, doing their best not to say bad things about her.

SO AMAZING

Anyone who has not watched the OG Endurance Run, watch it, right now. Stop whatever you are doing, it is not as important, go watch it, take some crystal meth so you can marathon all 100+ hours of it at once. It is probably the best thing this site has ever produced. It was like watching your favourite TV show every day, for over 6 months. It was the highlight of my day.

I would buy that so fast. I'm actually watching through the original Endurance Run right now, I'm on like episode 18. I always forget just how hilarious the girl rolling on E sitting in her desk it. Cracks me up every time. "I AM THE MUSHROOM QUEEN"

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 complete is on sale on Amazon right now for 3 bucks, love this game. Apparently Robin hood is opening a theme park in sherwood forest.

That  map's so easy.

I need to play more RCT.  I usually play it while I do homework since it requires so little attention to play it.  At least RCT2 requires a little more thinking, RCT1 is super easy.

They sit on their rumps for hours a day. The day that's athletic is the day I... do something.

You've clearly never seen a picture of Nada or Reach, or some of the other Brood War pros.  To compensate for playing a video game professionally, and many work out every day, and some of them are kinda jacked (In the case of Nada and Reach, quite jacked).
