A couple points.

You guys have mentioned mods, emulation, indies and a much larger back catalog as ways that the PC offers more content. What I often appreciate as well are the entire genres that are functionally nonexistent on consoles. Game types like RTSs, simulators, even MMOs and MOBAs are either not present on consoles or are limited to much fewer titles than on PC.

You are right that you can't quite get a decent gaming PC for the same price as a console but you can get in for around 500-600 (I got my Win10 Pro key from a reddit thread for $40 as have several of my friends). If you add in the lack of a need for an annual sub to play multiplayer that gap narrows a bit more. In the long run there's also the advantage of being able to upgrade or replace a defective component once out of the warranty period rather than buy a whole new unit.

Lastly even though we often hear of the death of the PC and the rise of tablets or PC alternatives many of us still need a real computer for work, school or other non-gaming hobbies. Consoles may be cheap but I can't administrate servers or write a term paper on one so being able to do those things on my gaming machine means another savings in the long run versus having to have another separate device.

These are just a couple more reasons that I think the PC offers the most value even though the initial purchase price can be intimidating.

@longy221:You're right, both factor in and I was wrong about orbital velocity. I guess I've been away from the capsule for too long.

The Norfolk High School fight song is the best, "We don't drink and we don't smoke, Norfolk, Norfolk"

Amazing stuff as expected. If anything though I would have liked Scott to give a couple more minor explanations for Drew and the viewers, terms like Delta V, etc.

As an experienced Kerbal player I have a working knowledge of orbital mechanics but I don't know the actual math so forgive me if I am wrong here. When Scott explains the counter-intuitive "burn away to catch up" thing he says that it makes you go faster going into a lower orbit but I don't think that is not quite correct. In actuality you are just adjusting to a shorter course like how the inner lane on a race track is the shortest distance around. You are actually going at a lower velocity but you have less distance to cover.

Anyway, amazing video, I'd love to see Scott return to GB some day and it would be great to see Drew dive deeper into Kerbal as well. If GS does do their Kerbal series I'll have to tune in to that as well.

EDIT: Oh man a series where Scott helps Drew learn EvE Online would be amazing too.
