If given the option, I prefer to assign stat points over letting the game choose for me. However, if your question is "do you prefer games where you assign stat points or games where you can't?" then the answer is "it depends on the game."
For example, I wouldn't want to have to spend stat points in a borderlands game, and I wouldn't want stat points to he chosen for me in a dark souls game.
@topcyclist: It seems like the other posters here understand your question better than you do. There's no need to bring up TikTok and create straw man arguments about how other people judge a game.
You just wrote that your question is for people who actively try not to enjoy a game, and then IMMEDIATELY you insult those people. I don't think you're going to get a lot of people on this forum who will shit talk a game in the same vein of whatever youtube video you're watching.
Anyway, I get what you're asking now and sure, I've experienced that. I've had Total War: Warhammer III installed for months and I haven't played for more than a couple of hours. I am convinced that I will eventually "get it" and enjoy this game. Hasn't happened yet.
Inscryption recently had a roguelike update called "Kaycee's mod" which added replayability. I can't speak for the update itself, because I haven't played Inscryption since release. Regardless, Inscryption was my game of the year (as well as Nextlander's) so I'd recommend it even without the roguelike elements.
I don't think your "poll" really supports your argument one way or the other. It's a yes or no question that can only be answered by someone who does not play Elden Ring specifically because it's too difficult or confusing, and who is aware of a mod that you haven't really identified. I feel the number of people on this forum your question applies to is close to zero.
