Not sure about the prefix, but for preorder items, they are tied to the retail code, not the preorder one. After head start, once retail code is entered and tied to your account, the next time you play a pop up message is supposed to come up on screen directing you to the C-Store where the items are unlocked for you and available for no cost (no Cryptic points required).

1. There was always a few fleet members on during beta, chat had its busy times and slow times, I saw a few group up many times. How many will be buying and returning is uncertain at this point, there's a thread on it here. You could also browse the STO forums for fleets that are recruiting and get an idea of how they intend to run things, maybe one of them could be what you want or expect from a fleet. I'm hoping the SNL will thrive, even if it has a slow beginning.

2. If you were to preorder, the annual sub is £86.60 inc. VAT while the lifetime is £180.94 inc. VAT. The prices on the site do NOT include VAT and, while it is clearly stated on at least two occasions during the payment process, some users had not noticed this. Annoyingly, you won't even see the price in £s until you enter a preorder code and click the special offer button on thier site and choose either option. For monthly, I'd guess that you could cancel and resubscribe when you want to play again, it's an mmo after all, they want you back playing and paying.

3. Some quests were pretty boring, run of the mill things like 'Eliminate enemy squadrons' and such but there were good ones in there. The story missions were the best, I went back in time in one quest, won't spoil that one whatsoever. I've been trapped in some sort of wormhole with Hirogen and on yet another story mission I had to set up pattern enchancers to go 'out of phase' with the current dimension in order to investigate what transpired in a mission entitled 'Ghost Ship'. From what I've read from those who were in the closed beta, there was around 85% of the content missing from open beta. The patrol missions were, to me anyway, a bit of a filler to gain levels before I'd continue the story. Defence of sector ones were repeatable over and over. Deep space ancounters in open beta were limited to 5 players within an instance, but that may be higher later as I think it was 20, just like the fleet actions, in closed beta.

@Buzzkill: No problem, I hit lv30 by the end, 1 more rank and I'd have got that Galaxy class to show off, but was just a lowly larvae within the lobsters ;p

Mine is @BitterScotsman, the 'Alien doing the running man' in part 10 on DS9, distracting Brad with the force field dome as he was about to continue exploring the station :)

I thought I'd get a quest to gather plants or get them working together, never got any though. I too was aligned with the Don, haven't played through with the Order yet though so maybe there's something there. I think one of them mentioned Abrax but I can't remember if I got a quest from him when I found him, if I did, it didn't involve those two NPCs so I guess you're ok to move on.

@Funzzo: For me, when it changes map it takes quite a while to load the next one, didn't do that before the update. The first time I thought it had just hung during map load, second time I went away and made a coffee and when I got back the map had loaded. Do you get the same thing or just a straight up system crash?
