Best of 2010

With 2010 coming to a close we must look forward to 2011. But we should always take time to reflect on the past. So without further ado, here is Binbay's.
                                                                                                                        !!BEST OF 2010!!

List items

  • Chances are you've played Mass Effect 2. You know why this is here. You know that the characters are great; the enviroments are beautiful, the game isn't hitchy, combat is so much better, you know that everything looks better. Seriously, you know that the class are so defined compared to Mass Effect 1. You know that the story is really well done and the ability to import your character is a brilliant feature.

Of course if you haven't played Mass Effect 2. Than I can't explain what makes this game good. Play it. NOW.

  • I felt that if all they did was put Fallout 3 in the Mojave, I would love New Vegas. But Obsidian was sooooo nice, they added new weapons, skills, perks, traits, and added a great story that can be altered more than Mass Effect.... Maybe.... Sure shooting doesn't feel different, but I never had gripes with it before.

    Only problem? No combat shotgun.

  • Everything.

  • Between an awesome if not totally original story. Interesting characters and well done voice acting, and a incrfedibly refined and fun shooting and cover system. Mafia II had me from the beginning to end. I just never wanted to let go of Vito's life. I WANT MORE!!!!

  • 5 hours. USA. Domination.

    4 hours. Germany. Team Domination.

    5 hours. Persia. Cultural victory.

  • I was a HUGE Bioshock 1 fan. So I wasn't really sure what to expect from Bioshock 2. I knew Bioshock 2 couldn't have a better story than Bioshock 1, but I also once thought that Bio 1 couldn't truly have a great story.

Turns out, the story isn't very hard hitting, Lamb was never even spoken of in 1. So why should I care? Well the location are cool, combat is much more refined and it has that signature Bioshock atmosphere and music. Plus an interesting multiplayer.

  • I'm quite a GTA fan. Played everyone of them since Vice City. Never to completion though. So imagine my suprise when the Red Dead Redemption sign popped up and the credits rolled. I beat a Rockstar game? What!? That in itself should give RDR a mark on the list. But it also had an incredible leading role with Mr. Marston and some fun Wild West missions too.

If only people didn't just kill other players in Free Roam.

  • What? Zach told me to put it on.....Deadly Premonition is a game that most people on the site will say is only on hear because of the Endurance Run. It's not (I still haven't even finished the ER).

I picked up Deadly Premonition because it was 20$, why not? I was blown away by the characters and crazy story, I always wanted to know more! The combat may not have been fun, but once I got the unlimited ammo weapons combat wasn't a problem. A charming and sometimes brilliant game.

  • Monday Night Combat. What a crazy game. It's single player is mostly non-existant. But that is easily looked over by the game's awesome multiplayer and horde style co-operative mode. It's fun, it's balanced, it's crazy!

I was originally going to give MNC the 10 spot, but because of the fact that it suprised me soo much I had to bump it to #9.

  • Splinter Cell promised cool setup moments where you would kill like 50 guys in one Mark and Execute.... Well it promised cool stealth action and the chances to do cool Mark & Execute moments. It had some great great shooting, superb stealth and good weapon and armour custimization. Not to mention a singleplayer, co-op and multiplayer mode. Fancy.

While there was some cool stealth, near the end of the game I found the game added too many lights that couldn't be put out. And I had too may issues trying to get into the Co-Op campaign that my friend INVITED ME TO. Also I found myself not caring about-or knowing- what was truly going on in th Co-Op campaign or singleplayer.
