I recently discovered that I copied the pages of the Hotspot podcast before they disappeared.

The website links don't work, but the downloads still are available. Wish I had done this with the On the Spot page!.

When Adam Sessler was fired from G4 I was devastated. It signaled to me the end of G4, one of the sites that I relied on for video game news and entertainment. Even though I hadn't been using the internet for video based entertainment that long, I wondered how I would be able to find another site to get some serious discussions about video games. Maybe I would stop searching for such content altogether. Then I heard from Sessler's twitter that he would be going on something called the "giant bombcast." My familiarity with podcasts were limited, knowing basically they were long form radio with no commercials. From my research I found that this podcast was connected to a site called Giant Bomb. I recall visiting the site in an attempt to decide if I would listen to the podcast. Honestly, I was against the idea. Why would I listen to hours of conversation with unfamiliar people when I only was interested in Sessler's take? But then I discovered that you, Patrick, worked on the site. I was a fan of your work on Feedback at G4, and was saddened when you suddenly disappeared from the site. Knowing that at least you and Adam would be there, I decided I would give the podcast a shot. Little did I know how this one podcast would lead to me to consume all the past Giant Bomb content, firmly establishing it as one of my favorite websites.

So I would like to thank you for introducing me to Giant Bomb, Patrick. I used to look at websites as purely entertainment and nothing more. The people involved might not even exist, for all I cared. But when Ryan passed, I realized how important this site had become to me. I decided to register an account and follow the community more, something I rarely do with any site. I think your humor and personality fit well with the rest of the crew. The synergy you guys had when I listened to my first bombcast really captured my attention. I appreciate your willingness to try out different types of games, even if they did not grab your attention at first. I also appreciate your on camera presence. You opinions on games seemed very professional and very sincere. The ease with which you are able to convey your feelings about subjects is very rare. I hope in the future you will continue to appear in some type of video content. It saddens me to see you leave, but I am thankful for the work you have done on this site. Good luck in your future endeavors.

They also mention it in the 11/27/12 podcast, beginning at around the one hour and 53 minute mark.
